It is nighttime, 1973, a shooting star is flying by, the moon is showing, and a young Michael Jordan is playing basketball. His father, James Jordan, comes outside, "Michael?" Michael turns to see his dad.
"What are you doing out here, son? It's after midnight." His father walks up to him. Michael holds the ball in his hands, "Couldn't sleep, Pops." James shakes his head, "Well, neither can we with all that noise you're making. Come on, let's go inside."
"Just one more shot?"
"All right, just one." James approaches the hoop as young Michael grins, "Yeah." He shoots the ball to the basket. James Jordan chuckles, "That's good, shoot it again." He passes the ball to him. Michael shoots the ball again to the hoop and makes a shot; his father catches it and smiles, "Getting pretty good, son." He passes him the ball again, "Go ahead, shoot til you miss."
"Do you think if I get good enough, I can go to college?" Young Michael shoots it again and makes another point. James Jordan nods his head, "Hey, you get good enough; you can do anything you want to, Michael."
Young Michael takes the ball, "I want to play in North Carolina." He shoots the ball to the basket. James Jordan catches it, "That's a real fine school, real fine school. You can get a first-class education there." Young Michael makes another shot, "I wanna play on the championship team. Then I wanna play in the NBA."
James chuckles, "All right, let's slow down, son. Don't you think you oughta get a little sleep first?" Young Michael looks up at his father, "And once I've done all that..." James Jordan smiles, "Uh-huh."
Young Michael Jordan takes the ball, "I wanna play baseball just like you, Dad." James Jordan pats his son on the shoulder, "Baseball? Hey, now that's a sport. When you've finished with that, I suppose you're gonna fly, huh?" Before they can go inside the house, Michael stops and turns to face the basketball hoop; he runs to the basket dribbling it twice. As he runs, he jumps and slam-dunks it.
