As you were getting in line with the other players, you looked at your manager. He was looking at you with eyes full of hope.
You were looking in the stands, when you saw your parents. They decided to surprise you by coming to see your game. Your parents were really proud and happy to see you play for your country. They all waved to you with tears in their eyes. "I know you can do it", was what your mother said before you left.
Right then, the national anthem started playing. You sang the anthem loudly and proudly with tears in your eyes. The whole country was counting on you.

After the swiss anthem, you shook hands with the players and positioned yourself on the pitch.
Your eyes full of fear were looking at Switzerland's players. "How am I going to win against them?", you thought to yourself.
Then you heard the whistle. "COME ON Y/N", came from the stands. Your fans were trying to motivate you, which helped you a lot.

20th minute, Switzerland was dominating. After a beautiful pass from Sow, Shaqiri managed to score a goal. But you didn't feel like giving up.
You were sprinting towards the goalkeeper, when you decided to pass to your friend, who then scored the equaliser in the 26th minute.
As you were trying to get to the goal, you could see Akanji prepared to tackle you, but you dribbled past him and scored the leading goal in the 35th minute. The whole team was shocked by your goal. You decided not to celebrate and just hugged your mates.
Not a long time after, you conceded a goal from Embolo in the 44th minute.

First half was over, so you went to the changing room with the squad.
Everyone was praising you, especially your manager. "Great job, Y/N", he said, "but the game is still not over". Your best friend was looking over to you, from across the room.
He wasn't looking too happy.
"Hey dude, are you okay?", you asked.
But he didn't answer and kept on ignoring you. You then went right back on the pitch and felt as motivated as ever.

The second half has begun, and you passed the ball right to your defenders. You had so many great chances to score a goal, but your best friend wouldn't even try to pass the ball to you.
"Is something wrong with him?", you thought to yourself. But you didn't let him get in your way, and just continued playing.
After a mistake made by one of your defenders, Vargas got the ball and quickly passed to Freuler, who then scored the leading goal in the 48th minute.
You tried and you tried, but you just couldn't score another goal.
In the 88th minute Akanji tackled your best friend, and then you just heard a lot of yelling.
You looked to see what was happening, when you realised that the squad got into a fight with the swiss players. Apparently your friend called Shaqiri an albanian slur.
You quickly ran to them and tried to stop the fight, trying to push Xhaka away from your friend.
"Come on Xhaka, let's not do this now. We've only got a few more minutes. Please, this is our last chance." you said to Xhaka, who was raging mad at your friend. "Get out of my way" he said. You decided to let him go, and just left.

It was the 97th minute, you just heard the whistle as tears started to roll down your cheek. You almost broke down, when someone came to you.
"I'm sorry for my behavior and for ruining your chance of qualifying by starting that fight. I hope you'll be able to forgive me."
When you opened your eyes you saw Xhaka in front of you, trying to give you a hug. You hugged him back and started crying. He was trying to comfort you, saying how good you did in comparison to your teammates.
Right then, Shaqiri came to help Xhaka comfort you. "You've got a lot of potential, it's just the team who isn't trying enough." said Shaqiri.
You thanked them for comforting you and went to the changing room.

Right as you got into the changing room, the whole team was starring at you. Not just them, but the manager as well. He then started to scold you all for the performance, especially you and your friend.
"But you know what, have you ever looked at our team?!" you said. "Where does almost the whole team play? Yeah, still in our country. And where do I play? In Spain for Real Madrid. I've won one UCL and even the La Liga. What have you guys won? NOTHING! And then you still yell at me for losing. Yes, I'm the captain. Yes, I missed a lot of goals tonight, but that still doesn't mean you have the right to yell at me the whole time. Ever since I started to play for the national team, you only yelled at me. You know what? I've had enough!". You then took your captain armband off and threw it on the ground, as you took your stuff and left the changing room. You were raging mad and sad at the same time. You just couldn't hold it in anymore, so you had to let it all out.

As you got out, someone was waiting for you...
