Granit Xhaka x reader

PART 7

You woke up on a very cold day in London at 6:30 a.m.
You had to be at the training ground at 8 a.m., so it was still a bit early.
But you still decided to start getting ready.
You took a quick shower, ate breakfast, brushed your teeth and put your clothes on.
At 7 a.m. you were completely finished, and decided to leave.

You arrived at the training ground at about 7:15 a.m.
You were the only one who got there that early.

"Morning, Y/N!"

You looked around to see who said that, and you saw Mikel Arteta waving at you.

"Good morning, sir." you said back, smiling to him.

"You're really early, and as I can see you're also in a very good mood. Happy to be here?" he said jokingly.

"I'm very excited to be here and to finally meet the squad."

He then said: "Well, I can tell you that the guys feel exactly the same about meeting "the new player"."

Mikel Arteta did manage to keep your name a secret.

"Here are your clothes, I couldn't give them to you yesterday since I didn't even know you were even in England." he said.

You then took your clothes and Arteta showed you the way to the changing room.
You were so excited to finally see Xhaka again.
The whole time you were imagining how he would react to seeing you.

It was about 7:30 a.m.
You could already see the players coming.
Gabriel Jesus, Odegaard, Martinelli,
Ramsdale...
All looking your way.
You were standing next to Arteta, it felt to you just like the first day of school after changing schools.
"Don't be shy" said Arteta, laughing.

"Oh my god, I can't believe it's you!"
said G. Jesus.

"Is he actually surprised to see me?", you thought to yourself.

"We're so happy to meet you, how come you decided to leave Real Madrid for Arsenal? Real Madrid is such a big club compared to Arsenal.", Zinchenko asked you.

You told him that you wanted a new challenge, and that you've always wanted to come to the Premier League.

"You know, Granit told us a lot about you. He really likes your style of playing football and said that you are very talented." Martinelli said.

"He likes the way I play football?" you asked yourself.

"You're really red, are you okay?" Odegaard asked you.

"Oh yeah, I'm alright don't worry." you said.

G. Jesus then said that he needed to go and make a quick call. You and the others continued to chat for some time.

*G. Jesus' POV*

"Where is this guy?"

???: "Hello?"
G.J: "Good morning, Granit. Are you still coming to training today? The new player is waiting for you."
Xhaka: "New player? Weren't they supposed to come in a few days?"
G.J: "Well that's what Arteta told us, but I guess they're here earlier than we thought. Are you still coming though?"
Xhaka: "Yes, I'll be there in 5 minutes"

*Y/N's POV*

You were looking for Xhaka everywhere, but still couldn't find him.
You were afraid he wouldn't come today.

"Alright, we'll start in 15 minutes." said Arteta.

You, Jesus and Zinchenko chatted a little bit while getting warm.
Until you suddenly felt a cold hand on your back.

"Care to turn around and speak with the captain?" said a person with a very familiar but cold voice.

You then turned around to see Xhaka.
His face lightened up and a smile appeared on his face immediately after seeing you.

"Hi Y/N, are you our new teammate?"
he asked you.

"Good to see you, Xhaka. Yep, it's me" you said smiling to him.

He then hugged you tightly, "I missed you a lot. Is this the reason why you didn't text me that often?" he asked.

"Maybe" you answered.

"I see you've met the captain",said Arteta while walking up to you, "and I guess you're already getting along really well."

"Of course, I've already met her some time ago." said Xhaka, looking at you.

"Alright then, finish your chat and then gather up with the others." said Arteta while lightly laughing, "We've still got some work to do."

Both you and Xhaka nodded.

"So you lied to me about going to talk to Ancelotti?"

"Only to surprise you" you answered, smiling to him.

"Atleast you didn't do something else instead." he said.

You two continued to chat until you got where the other players were.

"Alright. Y/N, you go with Gabriel J., Zinchenko, Martinelli and Xhaka."

Training with them was feeling great.
You felt just like home with them.
Although, you still missed the training sessions with Modric, Valverde and the others.

After training you went to change with the others.

"Should we look away while you change, Y/N?" Gabriel J. asked.

Xhaka was looking at you with a serious look, almost as if the others looking your way was making him feel uncomfortable.

"It doesn't really matter."
you weren't really sure if that was the right thing to say or not.
Xhaka seemed to be kind of sad after he heard your answer.

You all then listened to some music while changing, sung along and had a lot of fun.

"I'm glad I moved to Arsenal" you said.
"So are we", the others said.

As you were trying to leave the changing room, someone grabbed you by your hand.

"What do you think about going out with me for a drink a little bit later? I could introduce you to London a little bit." Xhaka asked you with a little smile on his face.

"Of course, I'll text you when I get home." you answered.

"Great. I'll see you later." he said happily while letting your hand go.
