Chapter 13

-Cypher pov-

I released y/n from my grip and she fell to the floor, gasping for breath. I just watched as she looked up at me as tears streamed down her face. 'Maybe she'll learn to respect me,' I thought as she stood up.

"I'm- i'm really sorry, Amir," She whispered, just loud enough for me to hear. The way my name rolled off of her tongue made me realize what I'd just done. I never took my eyes off of her when she hurried of out the range.

"Cypher." I heard Chamber harshly say my name. I turned around to look at him, and his arms were crossed. 'He looks pissed,' I readied myself for what words he might say after I respond.

"Yes?" I said, taking a singular step towards him.

"Why the fuck would you do that?" He said, I could tell he was on the verge of wanting to yell, but he managed to keep calm.

"I-I don't know," I said, my feelings catching up to me. I do know why I did that. I'm jealous of Chamber. I've had my eyes on y/n since she joined, and to know that this man she just met has already taken her away from me upsets me greatly. I regret taking it out on her. It's not her fault that she feels this way.

"An 'I don't know' isn't going to be good enough for me. what made you think it was okay to hurt her?" Vincent said, almost raising his voice near the end. Vincent walked over to me and stopped when he was inches away from my face.

"If I hear that you got aggressive with y/n any more times than this I will be telling brimstone about it. You're lucky I don't beat your ass right here, right now. Understood?"

"Understood. But, may I ask; why do you care so much about a woman you've just met?" Vincent bit his bottom lip and stared into my eyes.

"Why have you hurt someone you've loved for months?" He asked. I do not answer, as he does not need to think I'm more pathetic than I am. He scoffs before exiting the training room.

I do not know what came over me. I thought back to the time when y/n joined, when I promised myself that I would never lash out on her. I have only lost control like that a handful of times, and it only happens when i'm overwhelmed.

I soon hear the back door to the training room open, so I look in the direction of the noise and see Brimstone. He notices me almost as soon as he enters.

"Hey there, Cypher. Have you seen y/n?" He asks while making his way over to me.

"Yes, I have. She actually just left."  I respond as casually as possible.

"I see. Sage and I have decided to send her on a small mission. Do you think she'll be prepared by Friday?" He asks and I take a breath. Friday. That's five days from now.

"I'm sure she can get there. She is a very good shot." Brimstone nods his head in response and makes his way over to the gun that y/n left on the ground.

"Is this what she was using?" He asks, picking the firearm up.

"Yes." I respond simply. He nods his head while examining the gun.

"Lat her know that she can have this one." Brim says as he walks over to me with the gun. He holds it out in front of me for me to take, so I do.

As you enter the cafeteria, you spot neon eating something at the bar.

"Hey Tala," You say, making your way over to her. she turns around and gives you smile and a wave, gesturing for you to go over to her. You walk over and sit beside her.
