Filler chapter

When Karin was 8...

"Mommy do I have to speak I'm scared" Karin says to her mother as she fixes her clothing

"Yes baby don't you wanna stay with mommy" Janet says and Karin nods

"Ok then you have to talk on the stand they're only gonna ask you a few questions then you'll be done for the you hear"

"Ok mommy" Karin says putting her head down

Janet grabs Karin's hand and takes her into the courtroom. Karin sits in the chair beside her mother and lawyer and wait.

"I would like to call Karin Jinsui to the stand" Harold's father says and Janet looks at her daughter

Janet moves the microphone to her face and talks into it

"Your honor I would like for my daughter not to go to the stand" Janet says

"You sure Ms. Young"

"Yes your honor" Janet says ignoring her lawyer

"Ok I give full custody to Harold Jinsui and visits for Janet Young every other week and holidays case closed"

"Yesss Cmon Karin" Harold says grabbing Karin

"Mommy no mommy" Karin cries

"It's gon be ok baby I promise" Janet yells across the courtroom

"Karin stop" her father says as he puts her in the car

"I want mommy" she cries

"Well you can't have your mommy" Shana yells at her

Karin cries quietly as they drive to get something to eat.

"Karin eat" her father says as his daughter sits and looks at her food

He got her Mac n cheese and broccoli with water  but got April chicken tenders and fries with a strawberry milkshake.

"I'm not hungry" she says pushing the food away and putting her knees to her chest

5 minutes later

"I gotta go pee" Karin says and gets up from the table to go to the "bathroom"

"Hi baby you ok" Janet says picking her up and sitting her at her table

"Yea mommy why can't I come with you"

"Because the stupid court doesn't think I can take care of you but here baby" Janet says giving her a birthday cake milkshake

"Drink it quick so they don't expect nothing" Janet says and Karin nods

"I'll give you some food on your way out to baby" she says as Karin downs her milkshake

"I done mommy"

"Ok baby go back and remember come back here quickly"

Karin sits back down at the table and drinks her water while April eats her dessert.

"Mommy I'm done with my dessert" April says sitting down her spoon

"Ok everyone grab their food" Shana says and they do

"Karin" Karin hears and it's mom holding a to go box

They switch out the to go boxes quickly and Karin gets in the car. They go home and everyone goes to there room and Karin goes into the basement at least her father finally put a bed down here and a light she's been sneaking to sleep on the couch.
She changes into her pajamas and lays down in her bed.

She hope things change over the years.

FEW MONTHS LATER

"Karin wash the dishes" Shana yells as Karin does their laundry folding the 4th load

Karin gets up and goes to the kitchen looking at the sink full. She washes the dishes,did the laundry,and cleaned April's room. Karin falls on her bed exhausted. After all she did they didn't even feed her. Karin sleeps like she a fat grown man who works a 9-5 job.

Happy birthday to Karin.

Next week

"Happy birthday baby hope you like everything" her mother says handing her a gift

"Thank you mama" Karin says looking at a sewing kit

"I know it's not much but I thought I'd teach you how to sew oh and I got you your own sketchbook I decorated it myself" her mom says handing her the sketchbook

"How am I gonna sew the clothes without a sewing machine"

"I'll teach you how to hand sew first then see if I can get you that sewing machine"

Karin nods

"Here let's start go grab my sewing box it's in the closet in the left corner"

That was the day Karin fell in love...

With fashion.

All night Karin stayed up sketching like she was a designer for a new line.

Few Weeks later

"Karin quit sketching in that dumb book and bring me my clothes" her stepmother yells making Karin put the book down and grab the basket.

"Here you go" Karin says putting the basket down

"Me and your father are having a house party so you'll need to clean the house and wear a nice outfit stay in the corners" she says and Karin nods

"When is the party" Karin asks

"Today so get out my face and go clean" her stepmother says pushing her out the door

Karin grabs the mop and bucket then begins to clean.she cleans the whole house then lays down on her bed going to sleep as her stepmom locks the basement door before getting everything together.

While Karin is sleep.

"Babe where's Rinn" Harold asks Shana carrying April on his hip

"Oh um she's around her somewhere or sleep she said she was tired" Shana says

"Ok uhh I'm gonna chat with the fellas" he says and Shana nods

"Omg Shana your family is so beautiful I thought you had a stepdaughter where's she I would love to meet her" One of Shana's friends says

"Oh she's with her mom you would have to meet her another time" Shana says

"Ok"

Nothing was gonna ruin Shana's perfect family nothing at all not even a child from another marriage. She will do anything to keep that perfect image for her family.
