The day I died I was 9 years old with my dead mother's pills in my room when my dad was on a business trip. Taking the pills and laying down and dying was the expected part. What was not expected was to wake up.
I was in my room and I had no idea what happened I thought I had died. I should have died. When I saw a note. It said.
You have had a bad life with no meaning. Let me give you a new death that is better than life. I have made you into Japan's new Reaper. Your job is to collect wandering souls and to take the souls of the living that are supposed to be dead. You'll be immortal pretty much until it's time for you to retire.
At first I was confused. I had no idea what was going on then I went to feel my pulse and there was no pulse. Nothing about me was alive.
I got scared then I realized something. I finally have something to life for or rather die for. Being a reaper is what I'm supposed to do in this world. I smile widely and look up.
"Thank you" I say to the sky or too what ever god's out there that have blessed me.
The note changes and it says.
Thanks for accepting not like you had a choice anyways. So here's how you summon your Soul Taker which is used to reap souls. Just imagine something being in your hands that's a weapon and it should appear. It can be any weapon but the least common weapon is the sythe.
It's the rarest weapon but if you can summon it you can be seen by living beings and not be seen at all like the other weapns.

I need to be seen. I take a deep breath and I summon my weapon. A second later a heavy pole is in my hand and its a sythe. The pole is the color Black but the blade is different. It's Red. A new note appears
Congrats on pulling the sythe! I knew you would of course hehe. Anyways the scythe is one of the more powerful weapons. Thankfully when you get it you automatically know how to use it!
To test this out I swing it around with my little 9 year old body and it's like a body part to me.
The reason the blade is red is because it's made of soul stone. It's a red stone and the only stone that can touch souls. It's found in the forbidden Forest between Heaven and Hell. More on that later. Good news is that blood won't be obvious on your Sythe.

Now not only that you have one more thing to do. As God I cant let you represent me in your regular outfits you need a special outfit created by moi for reaping. Of course it's magic so it changes at will when your reaping.
Im gonna have clothes too. This god is very weird.

I snap and I immediately see the change. Instead of my school clothes I'm wearing Black Pants a dark brown trench coat that looks weird on my 9 year old body and a Black turtleneck.

That's not surprising. My mum died 2 years ago and my father never bothered so he left her bottles around. The only person my father has ever considered a son Ikeda has long been dead.
Now all I do is go to school and work only to come home and do more work. If I fail or mess up.... Well I don't even wanna walk about the F word.
I lay down as my eyes start to droope. I close my eyes and go into the sweet abyss of something that's not death.
