Long ago, in an ancient city lost to time, lived four brothers. On the seventh day of the seventh month of the year, each of the brothers received a vision from one of the gods.

The eldest brother, Mundrich, was given a vision by Waldrom, the God of Strength, to build a vast city with temples dedicated to the gods, with a strong army and a goodhearted king.

The second brother, Wilkin, was given a similar vision by Minerva, the Goddess of Wisdom. However, in his vision, Minerva had told him that the city would be named Elder, and it would be bustling with people from all corners of the world and that someone very wise would be the advisor to the king.

The third brother, Justus, much like the first two, was given a vision about Elder. His vision was given to him by Anastasia, the Goddess of Life. She told him that crops would flourish and life would bloom in the city, creating a magical place for everyone to live in harmony.

Arioch, the fourth and youngest brother, was given a vision from Damien, the God of Death. Damien told Arioch the same thing the other three gods had told the other brothers. However, Damien included that should any of the brothers try to become far more powerful than the others, then the kingdom would fall and death would ensue.

So the brothers agreed to build Elder, a city where people could come from far and wide to worship the gods. They swore that they would distribute the power evenly among the four of them and do what was best for the city. And with that they got to work on building the city of Elder.
