What Brought Me To You

Chapter 5 - The Talk

Lisa's POV

The pain in my head got more intense, my vision got blurry from anger.

"Ya!! What did I tell you earlier?" I yelled.

Kalen recited,
"That if I ever play with Kia's heart, You'll kill me."

Then he leaned in closer, whispering, "You needed that extra push to show Kia how much you care. Also, she's my sister."

I felt heat rush through my body. What the hell is he talking about? Is he playing with me?! If he says the truth, how can I believe him? As I feel my anger evaporate, I can feel embarrassment taking its place.

A friendly smile suddenly appeared on Kalen's face as he says, "Why don't we talk about this later? Over some tea?"

Still unable to believe I asked, "Are you playing with me?"

Holding back a laugh, he says. "I might've."

It was almost impossible to look away from his face. As the realization set in, I hit my head with my wrist and went, "AAIISSHHHH!!!!!"
So that's why Kia looks familiar!

I ignored everyone's weird looks.
Looking at me with an eyebrow raised, Kalen waited for an answer.

Putting my palms over my face, I nodded and tilted my head back.

My eyes shot open as Jennie tugged on my arm. Though I didn't realize I had fallen asleep, I'm glad I did. It definitely made me feel better.

All of a sudden, I noticed everyone. When I remembered what had happened, I felt sick to my stomach again.

"We're here!" Jennie announced.

I forced myself to look at Kalen and asked, "Kalen? Are you still up for some tea?"
Looking sleepy, he managed to give me a nod.

"So girls, I'll just see you in Rosie's room." Said I to everybody else.

Despite the strange look on their faces, none of them said anything else about it.

Jisoo tapped Kia's shoulder and said, "Kia, you can wait for Kalen in Rosé's room with us."

Kia declined politely, saying she had to be somewhere else, and she'd just catch up with everybody next time.

Kalen insisted, "Kia, let's go together."

Kia says, "You should definitely go, Enzo. I'm fine, we'll talk later."

Our goodbyes included thanking her for helping us and me apologizing for my behavior.

Still unable to hold my gaze, she said, "It's alright, just don't get too drunk next time."

Then it was time for her to leave.

There was an awkward silence as we walked. Just outside my room, I told the girls, "I'll come by Rosie's room soon."
They looked at me and Kalen then nodded.

Bowing my head, I apologized to Kalen the moment we got in.
"I'm so sorry Kalen!"
In a flash, he turned to look at me. His lips quirked, and he laughed.
"What the hell are you doing?" He asks.

Despite how difficult it was, I forced myself to say, "I wasn't thinking straight! I was only thinking about myself, and I, I was jealous!"

Like nothing happened he asks, "Will you stop that? And can I sit on the balcony?"

Shocked, I straightened up and awkwardly smiled.
"Of course! I'll go look for some tea."

"Forget the tea, do you have any beer?" Kalen asked.
