"I hate it when we fight."
He spoke after two minutes of silence."I am not a fan of it as well." I said while staring into his vulnerable eyes.
"Then why do you fight with me."
"Because you start the fight or say things that just get the worst out of me."
"I am sorry for what happened at the office today but It was not entirely my fault."
"I know, I am sorry as well." I don't afraid away from accepting my fault.
"But I want you to talk with me, what happened suddenly? What triggered you? So that we do not repeat such fights." I added.
"Let me hug you first."
He engulfed me in a tight hug, smelled my hair, and took a few deep breaths as If he survive on my smell."Now I feel like I am at my home."
He whispered."Jay."
I spoke after five minutes as we still were standing, in each other's embrace."Hmm.."
"You know, when we are angry we tend to say things we don't mean."
I took a pause and continued,
"I didn't mean when I said you only care about money."
I paused before continuing.
"I know you care for me, immensely. No one in my past was as attentive as you are to my needs and wants.""I am glad you didn't mean it. Those words were playing inside my head since the moment they left your mouth."
"I am sorry."
I said as I peeled away. Then my eyes went to the hand which was inside his pocket from the moment he came now on his side, his knuckles were red and swollen,
"What the hell Jay? What is this?"
I took his hand in mine and observed it."I punched the wall when you left." He said nonchalantly.
"God! Jay your temper."
"Have you applied anything on this?"
"Yeh, Vasim gave me an icepack."
"Where is it?"
"I don't know. Maybe at the office."
I shook my head with disappointment."You sit there."
I pointed at the bed and he sit down like an obedient kid.I went inside the kitchen and bought some ice in a bowl.
Went inside the bathroom, took out a napkin and towel with me and set on the bed beside Jay.I put some ice in a napkin and put a folded towel on my lap so it will absorb the dripping water,
"I don't have an icepack here, but this will help."
I said as I pressed ice on his swollen knuckles.I blew on his hand as he hissed in pain.
He tucked a few strands of my hair as it came forward with my head bent down.I saw a look of adoration on his face when I tilted my head at him,
"Nobody took care of me like this. It feels good when you are at receiving end."
