"Can your model stand earthquake? If yes how much magnitude?"
I asked to presentator.
My phone starts vibrating on the table."I have to take this call, If you have any questions to ask, then go ahead." I looked at my CFO and other members of my company.
"Or you can take a break." well they deserve one.
"Okay." all of them had relieved looks on their face.
They are doing work since the morning, and none of them complained. Well, they can not afford to.
They know what it takes to sit around, at this table, with me.
And I pay them well, for the work they do and for the overwork they pull. This is the first time her call came during the meeting, she took my meetings schedule from my assistant and only used to call when I am not in meetings but this one I preponed as I want to go home early.
Every time I heard the word home from my mouth, It does bring some foreign emotions.
I answered the call and went to the balcony.
"Hello."
"Hiiiiiiiiii."
She stretched the 'i' for half a minute.
I smiled at her antics, this woman.
This is what I was missing I guess,
no hours of sleep can make me stress-free as just a 'Hiiii' from her does."I called to tell you that I had great fun today."
She laughed, kind of like an evil laugh."Why are you laughing like you had done some mischief?
Aarna, you didn't go to a club, did you?"Her, alcohol, and club.
A very deadly combination for the health of my heart."What? Are you Afraid? I will find some handsome man there."
"Yes, I am. But for that man., he will not be able to go to the club after what I will do to him."
Can you live without her?
Maybe, the same way a man lives without a functioning heart on a ventilator. Is this love?
I don't know. But what I feel for her is more than just four alphabets."Chill man. Why would I go to a club in broad daylight?"
If it's nine here, It will be like four thirty there.
I rolled my eyes at myself.
Yes, she rubbed that on me."You are not going in at night even."
"Yes, sir. Anything else, sir?"
She spoke in an obedient student tone."Please use this on bed tomorrow, Ms. Patel."
I said in a husky voice."I have an audience here, Jay."
Ohhh. Her friends.
"So tell me what mischief you did?"
"Oh, I fought with my friends."
"What? Why?" there was concern in my voice.
Why wouldn't I be?
Those two are her family, especially Ria."Chill man, you are too serious for your age. I had a water and flour fight."
See, coming from a woman who had a water and flour fight.
"I threw ice cold water at Divya while she was baking cookies for me so in return she tried to throw flour at me but"
She paused to have that dramatic effect.
"I dodged and flour went on Ria."Of course!
"Later they both showered me with water and flour. They ganged up on me, It's not fair."
She complained like a child."Oh, my poor baby."
