We know you're ill.
We know you're ill.
We know you're ill.
We know-
The words echoes, flying over her head, calculating the best falsity she could think of:
"Oh, that. I had fever just-"
"Y/n, listen. You-you can tell us everything-anything! Please." Diluc takes a sharp, deep inhale as he talk, speaking every words clearly-as if he's just talking to a toddler. Not so loud, clear, and calm. Composed.
What's with him? This isn't the usual snob he gives.
Y/n lets out a light chuckle, wetting her chappy lips, exhaling; "What, What are you talking about? You're confusing me, Master Diluc."
"I am your brother. Don't call me that." At his stern voice, her smile downed to a frown, then back to a small smile.
"That is not what you told me, though. 'I am no longer your brother..." along with that, if I remember correctly."
"Y/n!" Kaeya exclaims from the side, slamming down his glass on the counter top.
Haha!
"Your sickness."
"It came back and you didn't tell us about it." Despite of how she was trying to draw away the conversation, Diluc stills himself composed, he knows.
As expected, her whole body tensed up at this, yet only for a split-second. But it was noticably, sublty, to him.
"...So what if it did?" Anyhow, she gains back her face, brows lightly furrowed, head tilted down.
At this point, he knows everything already. With Kaeya telling him, and it was the least Y/n expected from him to do; she never kept anything with anyone. And now that she did, for the first time that she did, she was given away. Once again.
By the people she hoped she could trust the most.
Would she be able to trust anyone again at this point? After all this?
"Then we will cure it— We'll help you." She couldn't help but let out a little laugh at this, bringing concern to the two even more.
Why is she laughing!?
"What do you mean? How are you not bothered Y/n!? This is serious!" Diluc exclaims somehow calmly, his fists forming into a ball.
"So what if it came back? You don't need to care about me." She snaps back, noticably having struggle with controlling her breathing. She gulps.
Diluc shots look to Kaeya, taking a sharp deep, inhale, then back to Y/n.
He can't loose temper. Not here. Not in front of Y/n. And not at the only chance they could talk to her properly. But this 'proper talk' is seems like about to come to an end with his patience thinning.
Which fears him.
Fears them.
He's about to lose his sister.
And he haven't done anything for it.
If it was not obvious enough, she was trying to not burst in tears. With the words rolling out of her tongue, it was clear to him that she will do anything, anything but heal.
Diluc walks out of the counter, now right beside of Kaeya, in front of Y/n.
She scoots back to her seat, moving backwards, her whole body tensed. She holds back her drink, taking only sips of it at the fact that the drink wasn't a like of her tongue. Just to somehow, tense her down.
