Hyunjin and Felix.
Felix and Hyunjin.
They were common. Common in the whole school.
And not because they were popular, no. Quite the opposite at that.
They were known as troublemakers. And each one of them had their own ways of making trouble.
Everyone knew that, when their paths crossed, it wouldn't end good. For neither.
Even the teachers were aware of the Felix-Hyunjin problem.
But despite that, they were often found together. Almost daily.
At detention.
Mostly minor things, such as getting into arguments or fights, disobeying the teacher or just boycotting assignments.
It was the usual.
But not on that friday afternoon where the two found each other yet again in the detention room.
It was filled with three more students. Probably more but some just won't show up.
The air was thick. So thick everyone could detect it.
There is no doubt that the air was mostly thick if the two were to be found together but it was something else that day.
It wasn't anger, rather embarrassment or uncomfortableness.
They didn't dare to look into each others eyes, avoiding each others gaze and the big topic that was hiding behind it.
None did their assignment. To be honest no one at detention did and thus it was more noticeable that there was a clear problem.
The teachers practically knew these two throughout, but not this side.
Ms Wang was a teacher who often caught them in trouble, or detention. But still did she believe they weren't so bad at all.
Maybe just misunderstood, like all the bad kids.
She was ought to believe that their issues stirred from another origin.
So she tried and supported them, talked to them, build a trust-fund with her students.
And so it came that it didn't go unnoticed by her that there was something off.
After the bell rang, everyone hurriedly grabbed their things.
Only Hyunjin and Felix were still glued to their seats, staring into space.
Hyunjin was the first to grab his backpack and leave the room without another look.
Ms Wang noticed the strange behavior. So when Felix left, she stopped him, concerned at his dull figure.
"Lee, is there a problem you want to talk about?" she asked with sweetness lacing through her voice for empathy.
Felix turned around to face her with heavy eyes.
His composure has never looked splendid due to all the fights and he was quite skinny. It was almost concerning.
But at the moment he looked... hurt and fragile.
She had noticed.
"Uhm.. no. I am fine. Not that it'd matter. Imma go home first. Bye." he spoke languidly.
Turning on his heels, he left the room with no other word.
The next day it was the same and for the week.
