Kids, I'm gonna tell you an incredible story.
The story of how i met your mother.

Twenty-five years ago, before i was dad,
i had this whole other life...

"Ted, say i'm your best friend" those words meant anything good and rebekah knew that after one second she had heard them. barneys words were almost every time anything but good & that was the second thing she knew. ted & barney didn't notice her yet but they knew she will eventually show. it was their normal routine. one of them called and then everyone of them showed up. "barney, you're my best friend." ted gave up, he had so many likely conversation that he didn't want another because he knew what will happen and how it will end. step on step. he remembered every scenario. "good. than as your best friend, i suggest we play a little game i like to call have you met ted?" he suggested.

before ted could disagree with that idea barney turn around to first random girl. "hi, have you met ted?" luckily this girl happen to stay right before stan girl so she answer. "actually, yeah. hi, teddy." "bekah, you're here" he answered surprisingly.

rebekah stan was ted and marshall's best friend from college. she and lily, marshall's girl, shared a room together so it was obvious that four of them knew each other pretty well. and it was pretty clear for everyone on theirs little group that rebekah & ted were close with each other. the closest.

ted came closer to her. he hugged her and said quick hello with small kiss staying on her cheek. "so? what are we doing here today? i have to go back to work, guys." barney opened his mouth: "did you heard about marshall and lily?" he asked with accent on every single word. "yeah, they are getting married. good for them."

"good for them?" barney replied. "they are getting married for duck sake! why you people are so cool with that!? what's wrong with you"

"nothing is wrong with us, barney" ted rolled his eyes as he sat down on theirs table. "they are adults. they want get married so they are getting one. it's not so bad." rebekah told looking at them both. "did you really call me just because of that? ted, you know i'm kinda busy right now at work." "it will good for you, i promise. you are working so much lately. and now, back to our conversation. barney, marshall's found the love of his life. i'm happy for him. even if i was ready, which i'm not, but if i was, it's like, „okay, i'm ready. where is she?""

and there she was... . it was like something from an old movie where the sailor sees the girl across the crowded dance floor, turns to his buddy and says „see that girl? i'm gonna marry her someday."

ted turned to rebekah and barney. he stopped his eyes a little longer on a brown hair girl, aka his best friend, wondering as if he should say what he thinks. "hey, guys, see that girl?" "oh, yeah. you just know she likes it dirty. go say hi" rebekah's punch barney delicate on arm. she rolled her eyes & looked at the girl. "robin?"

"you know her?" ted asked rebekah. "yep. we were once at the party together. she is nice, i guess" and then ted started overthinking. he always needed a plan. always. so he got an idea of how she goes to the bathroom & then he strategically place himself by the jukebox... stan girl interrupted him by turning to the girl who was standing now at the same table what they were. "hi, have you met ted?"

full of panic ted raised his hand saying quick hi. it made rebekah cringe as she got barney by a hand & left ted alone with robin. she didn't know yet what she had done.

two friends ( bekah & barney ) were watching the other two across the table. it was seem like robin where there with her friends who weren't happy about her talking with some guy. rebekah recognised one of them but she didn't say anything. "you know..." barney looked at her. "let's make a deal." brown hair girl looked at him with curiosity. she loved making deal with him because she knew that then he would do everything. "what deal?"

"if ted will get date with this girl, you will go to a dinner with me. huh? sounds fun?" "as hell, barn. but we both know that robin won't go out with him. you know why?" "why?" "you see, my dear dear friend, robin is here with her friends..." she pointed to the group of girls who were watching theirs friend with madness in theirs eyes. "...one of them probably just broke up with boyfriend so now they all thinks that every guy is a dick. that's what robin is telling ted right now. and you know why i know that?" "why?" "because i know ted & i see that on his face even if we are standing few meters away. she's trying to be nice to him so she says the true. she is being loyal to her friends and that's why she won't go to a date with him. i'm awesome."

"i'd say that you are wrong. i just saw like robin gave our ted her number." "what?!" "so what about our deal?" rebekah didn't say anything. she just looked at the two & saw how they are still talking. it made her fell weird. of course, she often watches ted talking to some girls & even she was helping him getting ready for his dates but that... that seems weirder. almost wrong. so when barney started laugh she was confused but then she saw like robin split her drink on ted. and just like that she felt sympathy because when she was thinking about how wrong it would be, her best friend lost his chance to found his the one.

and yes, maybe he wasn't perfect by that time, but he was all she wanted. she just didn't know that yet.
