October's Ruin
Arlo
This part of the story reminds me of the song "Softcore" By the neighbourhood.
That night at the beach I spent the whole time just talking to Valentine. It was easy to speak to her, everything flowed naturally and hearing her sweet voice made my ears comforted by bliss.
After that I walked her to her hotel room like those kids who walk their crushes to their classes in school. It was cheesy yes, but I had grown a small protectiveness in the small time i've known her.
When we made it to her hotel room she gave me the bonnet she had bought me days prior to the trip. She remembered my jokingly suggestion of buying me a matching bonnet. I smiled deeply at the very thought that she had remembered something like that.
That night I wore it because apparently it helps your curly hair a lot but mostly I wore it because she bought it for me and I appreciate the little things. They never go unnoticed in my eyes.
After that night at the beach the air shifted between Valentine and I, we had worked on a few more photoshoots the next day and she had taken out her locs. I really liked that hairstyle on her, she looks pretty with about anything really. But her curly hair was truly something I adored on her.
The tension was different, it was like we both were acknowledging something without really acknowledging it. I kept refusing to feel just about anything but that barrier and wall would crack every time we where in the room together. Every time we were in mere inches of each other.
She really was something else, the way she posed and the way she fit every design I created just perfectly. It was like my very vision had come to life and everything I was hoping for was beginning to unfold in front of me.
Everyone spent their last days in Times Square cheerfully. I spent a lot of time drinking with my associates and crew. Valentine spent it with Minji and Noor. She unfortunately did end up hanging out with Aaron to make it up to him which was just.. very fun news for me to hear but I brushed it off. Reluctantly. She isn't mine to put claims on but fucking hell was I one pissed motherfucker when I heard.
