"How about I kill you instead."

So far the dance was well although...running into the person who is responsible for your parents death tends to ruin it. We were here for a hour already when I see my old 'friend' Lena. Me, Ajax, Enid, Tyler, Wednesday, bianca , and Xavier were all sitting at the table to give our feet a break when I see Lena walk in. Ass soon as I see her my eyes flash a bright red which causes heads to turn to me.

"Hey, are you ok?" Tyler being the first to notice.

As soon as he said that every one else looks at me, xavier among them all had the most concerned face. The candle in the middle of the table suddenly flares up. No one in this school have ever seen my magic which is what I was afraid of.

"Vera?" Ajax says.

"What's wrong?" Bianca is next to ask.

"Hey, hey, hey, Vera what's happening?" Xavier asks while putting his hand over mine.

I pull it away though and stand up from the table and walk over to Lena.

"Lena!" I yell to get her attention.

"Oh no." Wednesday says as they all stand up and walk a few steps closer.

As lena turns around she looks like she's seen a ghost. Fear is staked through her eyes like the stake in a vampire's heart.

"Vera..." she says.

Suddenly the lights start flickering and wind comes out of literally nowhere. The ends of my finger tips are sparking and turning red as the mere sight of her voice makes me wanna end everything she had left.

"Why are you fucking here?!" I yell.

"To apologize to you.." she says.

"Bullshit Lena!" I yell as tears fall from my face.

"God damn Vera! I am the reason your parents are dead ok? They died to save you! And for years I hid from you because I know what happens when your magic is let out! But I needed to tell you I'm sorry Vera! IM FUCKING SORRY!" She yells.

Now is was silent in the room. Some whispers, no music, silence.

"How about I kill you instead." I say while a magic red orb fades into my palm, causing a few students to gasp.

"FOR GODS SAKE IM DYING OK!?" She yells.

I look up at her and make the magic orb bigger.

"THATS NOT MY GOD DAMN ISSUE LENA!" I yell as tears are streaming down my face.

"Vera.." Xavier says.

"No! Just leave me alone!" I yell as I turn to him.

Just then lights started to blow out and sparks begin flying everywhere. And the most unexpected thing of all happens. Lena hugs me. My magic orb starts spiraling out of control until it's no longer there. I don't hug her back tho.

After a few seconds she steps back with a knife in her hand.

"What are you gonna do? Dissect me?" I ask.

"I'm sorry..." she says before dragging it across her throat, causing her skin to rip open and blood pour out.

Kids gasped and yelled and me? I screamed.

A blood curling scream if that. I drop to my knees and hold her in my lap as tears stream down my face. Then the sprinklers started spraying out blood.

"No no no no no no no no Lena..." I plead with my voice breaking.

"It's not even pigs blood." I heard Wednesday mumble before she walks away with Tyler behind her.

Everyone else left but Xavier, Bianca, Ajax and enid.

"I- I'm- sor- ry." She says before I see her body limpt to the floor, dropping dead.

"Fuck!" I yell as I hit the ground.

I feel Xavier's chest against my back. I fall off my propped up knees and lean against his chest. As tears stream down my face he wraps his arms around me.

"I'm so sorry..." he whispers.

Then the lights start flickering again. Lights go out and my eyes turn red again. To avoid hurting Xavier I push away from him and walk a far distance from the others.

"Vera don't do that!" He yells while standing up.

"I don't want to hurt you!" I yell before looking at my hands to see the magic sparking.

My finger tips turn black as a huge red explosion of magic goes off, sending things flying. Including my friends. I look at them with fear when I notice Xavier is bleeding from the blast.

"Shit.." I mumble before running out.

As I'm running out I find the crowd of kids who were once inside. Including the principal...and Ms. thornhill. Another small magic blast happens and kids look at me with fear. As my eyes glow a brighter red I put my hand down and conjure a portal. I hear the door behind me open which I assume is Xavier and the others. Through the portal walks a timber wolf with a chain collar. People are collectively confused.

I bend down to the dog and look in its eyes, when it's eyes turn red as well my magic suddenly calms down. I slump down and let out a light silent sob. The wolf sits down and I feel Xavier beside me, standing, and towering.

I stand up and look at where he is bleeding and with tears in my eyes I give him a 'I'm so sorry' look. But to my surprise he hugs me. He puts one hand on the back of my head and the other around my waist. I don't think I've ever hugged anyone tighter in my life.

"How are you even gonna let her in school she's dangerous?" Some kid yells.

"Yeah we could have gotten hurt or killed!" Another yells.

"Enough!" Xavier yells as I pull out of the hug and stand behind him.

"None of what just happened was in her control! Vera didn't want any of that to happen! Your telling me, your werewolf or siren powers or vampire powers or whatever supernatural abilities you have are under control 24/7?! Exactly! You'd be a liar. She just saw the girl who was responsible for her parents death and to make it worse, she suffered the same fate in front of her! Obviously her magic is going to spiral! None of you have magic like Vera's! You can't judge or comment on it! You have no opinion on it!" Xavier yells.

When he turns back to me I just look at him. Right then in that moment is when I realized I'm in love with him.

I wrap my arms around his neck and hug him, although every time we hug I have to stand on my tiptoes.

"I- ... thank you." I whisper backing out of what I was gonna say.
