As promised, two chapters in one day.
Enjoy the read. :)
Two weeks, this atrocity had been going on for two weeks. Childish minds would refer to this as a prank war, but no. Prank wars are enjoyed by all parties involved, I hated this. My papers kept going missing and ending up in the oddest of places. Yesterday, my weeks plans for my classes were found in the bathroom. I found insulting messages in my locker. If it weren't for the manner of the notes, I wouldn't have guessed who it was. It was Dick. I was sure of it. I had to figure out how to get him back.
I took a deep breath in an attempt to calm myself. I would be the better man and leave him be. After one prank, of course.
I was in my office getting ready to leave for the day when my door flew open.
"Larson! What the fuck is wrong with you?" Richard said storming in.
"Me, nothing. You, everything imaginable." I continued my packing.
"You put itching powder inside my coat."
"Yes and since you're not writhing like a pig in dirt, it didn't work." I stated.
"Well yea, I have five brothers. I can sense an oncoming prank from a mile away." He came close to me. "How dare you?"
"How dare me? Excuse me for retaliating to your childish games." I scowled at him.
"I was trying to rile you up. Lord knows you need it." I narrowed my eyes at him.
"You don't get to decide that. It's not your choice. If I act like I have a 'stick up my ass' as you like to put it, then that's my problem. You started this nonsense. You have no right to get mad at me when I decide to get even. I've had a horror of a month and you getting involved made it even worse!" I yelled at him.
"Jeremy..." He said, softer.
"No, I'm sick of this. You're an idiot and sometimes I wish that you'd fall off the edge of the universe. I'd get better sleep at night. You're intolerable, cruel, insane, not to mention- mmph!" My eyes widened as his lips were crushed against mine.
I pushed him away and held him at arm's length. "Have you completely lost your mind?"
He at least had the decency to look ashamed. "You really hate me that much?" He asked.
"I never said I hated you. I just really despise you."
"Which basically means the same thing." He retorted.
I rolled my eyes at him in response. "You don't get it, do you? You can't just come yelling into my office about something that you started then kiss me to get me to shut up."
"I didn't kiss you to get you to shut up." He said. "I wanted to, so I did it."
"Without asking me first?"
"You would have punched me." He shrugged.
"Yea, as if I didn't want to now." I said bluntly. "We are not in elementary, Richard. You can't hit me then run away hoping that I'd think you're doing it because you like me."
"Maybe I don't like you. Maybe I just want to kiss you...no strings attached." He stepped forward.
"You're ridiculous. Delusional even." He smirked.
"You like it though." I bit my lip.
"This is a bad idea." He pecked me on the lips. "Really bad."
