A small huff left my lips while I drove to JJ's house to find the keys to the phantoms. I felt his ocean-blue eyes still darting through me ever since I said that one comment. I didn't mean it rudely but I was just stressed at the moment.

"Look, Jay, don't take it personally but I don't need comfort. That makes me break down more." I explained, glancing over at him before I looked back at the road.

"Whatever you say, Princess Madalyn."

This dude just keeps embarrassing himself today. Every single time he opens his stupid mouth, he says ridiculous shit.

"You're such a jackass. I said that in a nice tone and you still wanna be cocky with me." I scoffed, turning the steering wheel.

"Well, maybe you need the first 4 letters of that word you just used." he bluntly said. Was he serious? I never thought I would say this but the more he opened his mouth, the more I lose interest in him. And I didn't want that to happen.

"Your such a dick, JJ." I groaned, slapping the steering wheel. "See? You can't even get that out of your mind," he replied.

I didn't reply and I laid another slap to the steering wheel in frustration. I was not horny. At the moment. If JJ from last night was the one saying that then I would be, but I'm not liking this irate envious, JJ.

We pulled up to the side of his house and I put the car in park. I knew his father was in there and I didn't want him to get hurt. Despite our argument from this morning until now, his safety was my top priority. If that meant I had to go in with him to save him, I would.

"Home sweet home, huh." I heard JJ whisper, mostly to himself. "Do you want me to come with you? Cause I'll come." I mumbled, watching him fidget with his rings.

"No. That's fine. Stay. It's safer that way." JJ whispered, grabbing his brown backpack from the floor.

"Are you sure?"

"Positive."

"This will only take a second," he muttered, opening the car door and getting out. He quietly closed the door behind him and began walking off.

I watched his every move making sure he was safe since who knew where his alcoholic, druggie of a father would pop up from.

Then, he looked over his shoulder, locking eyes with me. I slowly nodded my head to attempt to give him a slight comfort. He looked forward and slowly walked inside his messy house.
