( CLAUDIA'S HOUSE )
↳ chapter three — ScarlettTHE GIRLS walked all together to Claudia's house, talking and laughing. Well, the talking and laughing
was mainly just Claudia and Stacey.Sometimes Scarlett giggled at little funny moments, or answered simple questions from Claudia. Nothing much though.
Finally they arrived at the house. As they were walking up the steps, a voice shouted out to them. The three of them turned around to see two boys walking towards them.
One boy was shorter, with tan skin and dark hair. He was wearing dark blue pants, shirt, and vest, with a green and white bucket hat. The taller boy had lighter skin and brown hair. He had a purple t-shirt, tan pants and vans on.
While the boys and Claudia and Stacey talked, Scarlett sat on one of the steps. A girl with brownish ginger hair caught her eye.
The girl stood on the sidewalk in front of a different house. Scarlett recognised her from a couple of their classes. The two made eye contact and Scarlett smiled slightly. They didn't know why the girl was looking over here, but they thought they should be polite.
Scarlett saw Claudia wave to her, and the girl waved back. Maybe they were old friends? They thought.
Soon enough, the girl turned away.
Scarlett tuned out of the conversation again, wishing to go inside now. It's almost as if someone answered her prayers, because the boys walked off.
The three girls turned to the house and stepped inside. Claudia's house was spacious and clean, with modern decorations on the walls.
"Mimi?" Claudia sought.
A voice came from the kitchen, inviting the girl in. Claudia waved for the sisters to follow her.
"Mimi, these are my friends Stacey and Scarlett. They're new to Stoneybrook from New York," Claudia introduced.
Mimi looked up from the tea she was making. Her eyes lit up when they saw the two girls and she smiled brightly. "Welcome, welcome. May I get you girls anything? Some tea maybe?"
Claudia shook her head, "No thanks Mimi. Maybe later though when we start on our homework."
The girls walked upstairs and into Claudia's room. It was bright, to say the least. There was a desk with lots of clutter and artsy stuff. On the opposite side of the room, there was a golden sun behind her bed and modern art in frames. The wall in front of them had a big window with colourful curtains.
"You've got a really cool room," Stacey gasped, looking around. Scarlett nodded.
"Thanks, Stace," Claudia replied. She then walked over to a red chair in front of the window. She opened a compartment in the arm of the chair and grabbed gummy worms. "Anyone want some candy?"
Claudia held out the opened ziplock bag to the McGill sisters. Scarlett muttered a quick thanks and plucked out two gummies. Stacey grabbed some as well and they all sat down. Claudia on the red chair, Stacey of the bed, and Scarlett on the wheely chair.
