Vanessa, Adam, Anna and Shay were sitting in a nearby fast food place and having a meal for the night, after the assassination of Jane Syd they decided to leave the party before anyone could figure out what happened, however they were not allowed to tell Shay due to him not being part of the order of Vampires, it was because of this that Adam and Vanessa couldn't discuss what happened due to Shay being there as well.

Eventually Shay got up to go to the bathroom and Adam and Vanessa were finally able to talk.

Adam "Very sufficient with how you murdered that nurse Vanessa, I shall inform Verona of your skills"

Vanessa "Yeah..... I guess"

Anna could tell something was wrong with Vanessa as on the way to the restaurant, she was acting incredibly distant.

Anna "Is there something you're thinking about Vanessa?"

Vanessa "Yeah"

Adam "Speak it then, we are not mind readers"

Vanessa took a deep breath and began.

Vanessa "Do you guys really think that the nurse was truly evil?"

Anna "What makes you think that?"

Vanessa "I dunno, it's just a gut feeling I have"

Adam "Unfortunately it is not in our place to question what we do for the count, but to merely act, It doesn't matter what she did or why. Only that she's dead.

Vanessa "But Syd seems to believe she was helping people! She didn't seem to be doing it for profit or fame!"

Anna "Is that what you saw?"

Vanessa "I..... No. What I saw in the depths of her heart and mind was not a place of healing but of pain.

Adam "Then why are we having this conversation? It seems the answer is clear"

Vanessa "I... I don't know. I'm sorry forget I spoke of it."

Adam "It is alright, in fact I too am starting to question these targets"

Anna "Hey don't look at me! I just supply the information!"

Adam chuckled and took a sip from his drink.

Adam "I'll ask the count later about the nature of our overarching mission, perhaps she can give me the answers you and I seek"

Vanessa "Thanks Adam"

It was at that point Shay came out of the bathroom.

Shay "What were you guys talking about?"

Anna "Oh it's nothing, Shay, just work related stuff"

Shay "I see"

Anna then smiled sweetly at him.

Anna "Come on, let's go get some ice cream and let these two talk, it's very important"

Shay "Sure!"

They then got up to go over to the dessert bar and left Adam and Vanessa to talk.

Vanessa "Do you have any idea why we are killing these specific targets and not just go after the Ring itself?"

Adam "I don't know.... perhaps the count has a plan in mind"

Vanessa "Well if she has a plan then she needs to stop being secretive and tell us all about it"

Adam nodded and took another sip of his drink.

Vanessa "And speaking about secrets, how longer are we gonna keep Shay in the dark?"
