You follow Irie through the streets of dungeon town, Koko clinging to your arm at your side. The petite cat girl eagerly points at various buildings as you walk, trying to show you the town. She's not being all that effective at that though.
"That's a building, and that's another building," the red-haired cat girl rattles off. You kind of already knew that. Those are quite obviously buildings.
You turn your pink eyes away from yet another building that Koko is happily gesturing to, instead choosing to look over the contents of the street as you continue to stroll forward. The town appears to be quite bustling based upon the amount of traffic in the street. You don't notice any vehicles though. Everyone looks to be traveling by foot. Guess the dungeon doesn't have cars or even bikes.
Wait a moment. Your eyes come to a short-haired brunette with light tan skin standing at the side of the street. The green-eyed woman wears a sword at her left hip.
[Name: Nako
Class: Waifu
Strength: Lvl 5
Mind: Lvl 2
Soul: Lvl 3]
It isn't just Nako though. There are many other waifus mixed in here. A quick glance around is enough to confirm that fact. Why, though, do you not see one man out of the plethora of people around here?
"A problem?" Irie inquires, the tall, tan elf cocking an eyebrow as she looks back.
"No. I was just wondering why there aren't any men here."
"Men aren't a thing here," she explains. "The dungeon is populated by women only, and no, I don't know why."
"Wait. If there's no men, how do you guys, uh, procreate?"
"The dungeon." Irie giggled a bit. "We are born from the dungeon, already fully grown. As for all the people with the waifu class, they have been isekai'd."
"So I'm not the only one."
"Far from it. Just look around. There are lots of waifus in the dungeon."
Koko tugs your arm, getting your attention. "Do you remember your past life?" she interjects, her green eyes sparkling.
"My memory's kind of fuzzy actually."
Koko lets go of you before addressing Irie. "Tell her about the prophecy."
The purple-haired elf smiles at the cat girl before looking back to you. "You may not know this yet, but there is no leaving the dungeon. Even this town is in the dungeon."
"You mean we are trapped in the dungeon?" You cock your head to the side, your blue twin tails swaying.
"That is correct," she responds simply, her eyes not leaving yours. "The dungeon is self contained. We cannot leave it. However, perhaps one day that won't be the case. There is a prophecy."
"A prophecy?" You bring a hand to your lips, your interest peaked.
"It is foretold that one day a waifu will reach the bottom of the dungeon and defeat what waits there. Only then will the dungeon be opened."
"What lays at the bottom?"
"Who knows?" Irie shrugs nonchalantly. "The whole prophecy could be a bunch of nonsense for all I know. As things currently stand, the dungeon is the world for us."
"I see." Your mind goes over the prophecy. While the prophecy could very well be referring to you, the sheer number of waifus makes it hard to determine who it is actually referring to. Perhaps people will just keep getting isekai'd into waifus until a waifu actually fulfills it. This, of course, assumes that the prophecy is even true.
Koko steps in front of you, her red ponytail bobbing, her green eyes sparkling. The petite cat girl maneuvers to your right, grabbing your arm and squeezing it. "I believe in the prophecy. I hope we can see the outside world together some day."
Irie laughs as your cheeks become tinged with a blush due to Koko's antics. "We should probably get moving again," the elven woman says happily. "Come on. The guild is this way."
