The silent surrender of Harry Potter, the boy who lived, had brought the world to its knees.
The weather was sad. The best word to describe it was surrender.
There are moments in all of our lives when we accept what has happened in front of us. Harry was too dead to accept. But the first person to accept was Draco.
After the Hogwarts victory anniversary celebration, Hogsmeade was very quiet. The smell of wreaths remained in the air. The spring breeze had turned into a strong wind. Draco's hair was too greasy to mess up. But Hermione's hair had to be gathered from the eyes and ears of others. The same issue sometimes caused their unnatural laughter.
"People show strange, horrible behavior in these situations." Draco thought while laughing at the nonsense he was talking about.
He couldn't remember when was the last time he laughed so long and loud in his entire life. Laughing hard, he leaned on the back of his chair and let his head fall back.
And it was at that moment that he recognized a crimson phoenix on the black expanse of the sky.
The phoenix was flying right above them. Ginny was right in front of them.
It took him a while to realize what Ginny's presence meant. He put his hand on Ron's arm.
Probably the strange coldness of Draco's hand had caused Ron to immediately stop laughing. He followed Draco's gaze to face Ginny, the phoenix of death, the crimson blob flying above them.
The time had come.
