Forever Together

Chapter 3

Jimmy was so entranced listening to Abby go on and on about how she's excited for her classes and how she loved her dorm layout that he almost forgot about his film review followed by a quarterbacks practice. He hated interrupting her but he knew he had to go. 

"Stellina?" Jimmy started. 

"Jimmy look at all the closest space I have! I packed all my hoodies and they all fit! My dad was convinced he'd be bringing some home!" Abby said smiling while looking at the camera to see his reaction.

Jimmy just had to smile and shake his head. He knew she loved her hoodies especially since he could see some of his hoodies... But he didn't care, at least some part of him was with her. 

"Abs, I'm so glad you're settling in and our hoodies fit," Jimmy said with his smirk causing Abby's cheeks to heat up. 

"But I have to go to my film review and practice.." Jimmy could see the sadness in her eyes even though she tried to hide it. 

"Oh ok, well don't throw too many interceptions James" Abby said teasing Jimmy. 

"Oh Abby, do you even know me at all? I gotta throw one now just to make you proud!" Jimmy teased back with his smile. 

"Alright, alright, you better go now. You don't wanna be late James" Abby said trying not to laugh.

"You tryna get rid of me Abigail? I'm hurt!" Jimmy said grabbing his chest in "pain".

"Just go before I come back and make you go James Garoppolo!" Abby said continuing the banter.

"Yeah, yeah I'm going, I love you" Jimmy said hoping she knew he truly meant it.

Her heart skipped a few beats hearing those words, hoping he really meant them. 

"I love you too James, have fun!" Abby replied.

They exchanged one more smile before Jimmy closed his laptop ending the call, leaning back in his chair, throwing his head back and letting out a deep sigh... What has this girl done to me, he thought. He looked at the time and realized he had 5 minutes to get to the film room. He grabbed his bag, threw on his Nike's and ran out the door.

Jimmy ran down the sidewalk in an attempt to get to the athletic department building before his meeting. He glanced at his watch, 4:57... He sped up as he only had 3 minutes now. Since it was almost 5, everyone was either at dinner or studying so he was grateful for the empty sidewalks.

Jimmy ran into the room with about 45 seconds to spare. He was greeted by the smell of coffee as his quarterbacks coach was in the corner making a cup, oblivious to Jimmy's loud and almost late entrance. Jimmy looked at the table and saw his backup QB Lukas writing notes on some of the film. Lukas looked over at him when Jimmy walked towards the table. 

"Geez Jim again?! At this rate I'm gonna have your job by Saturday!" 

Jimmy rolled his eyes as he took his seat not regretting why he was almost late. He quickly got out his laptop and his notebook, preparing for the meeting. Lukas looked over at his laptop, seeing a picture of Abby on his screen and it all made sense when he looked at Jimmy at saw him staring at her.

"Oh I get it! You're always late because of that girl. You know Jim, if you don't snatch her up soon, someone else will, maybe someone like me who won't stop until she's mine!" Lukas laughed with a look of evil in his eyes hoping to get Jimmy fired up.
