Forever Together

Chapter 4

Abby woke up to a loud noise in her room. She jolted up only to realize it was her alarm that she set so loud so she could hear it because she's such a deep sleeper. Unfortunately much to Tasha's dismay, she was also now awake too.

"Jesus Abigail! Are you gonna wake me up every morning with your outrageous alarm? 

"I'm sorry Tasha but I wanna make sure I have enough time to find my classes and you should too!"

Abby jumped up without even looking at her phone for a good morning message from Jimmy while Tasha flopped back down and covered her face with her pillow. Abby started getting ready in their bathroom that was in their dorm when she was interrupted much to Tasha's dismay by the ringing of a facetime call..

"Stellina! How was your first night?" 

Before Abby could answer, Tasha shot up from her bed with a grin on her face listening in to the conversation,

"It was great! I facetimed Jessie and then-"

"Hey! Don't forget about me!" Tasha said as she walked into the bathroom.

"Do my ears deceive me or is that Natasha?"

"Yeah, yeah it's me keep your pants on Garoppolo."

Abby just laughed knowing that they could go on for hours teasing each other bringing back memories from their childhood.

"Well this is a surprise! I didn't know you chose to go to Minnesota as well."

"That's because I didn't tell anyone until I got here! Surprised her when I walked through the door with my suitcase." Tasha replied nudging Abby with her arm.

"We don't just have a good sports management program here, there's a fantastic medical program that specializes in sports medicine since Tasha wants to be an athletic trainer." Abby added off camera.

Jimmy's smile was plastered on his face knowing that his best friends could achieve their dreams together.

"I do hate to breakup this reunion but I'm gonna go get us some breakfast before class." Tasha said putting on her Chicago Bears Nikes.

"Bye Tasha!" Abby and Jimmy said in sync before looking at each other and laughing.

"So any other earth shattering surprises you have to drop on me at.. Jimmy looks at his watch, 8:07am?"

 "So I don't want you to be mad at me but there is something I haven't told you."

Jimmy's chest is tight, his stomach is filled with anxiety and he has a million thoughts running through his head, the first thought to stick, does she have a date? How could she have a date? She's been there for 14, 16 hours at the most and most of those she was sleeping. He knew she could get a date in less than 10 minutes, I mean just look at her, but he has a lifelong reservation on dates with her.

"So you know how I wanna be NFL Commissioner?"

Jimmy breathes a sigh of relief as a cheeky remark pops into his head to respond. 

"What! You have never uttered those words a day in your life Abigail, how could you not tell me this?!"

"James!"

"Alright I'm sorry! Go on." Jimmy replied with a grin.

"So at the beginning of summer, I saw a thing for an opening for a internship with the Minnesota Vikings working directly with their general manager and since I was gonna be here for college, my mom convinced me to apply."

Jimmy's face lit up with pride as he took in her words with a strong feeling he knew where this was going. 

"And you know, since I'm only 18 and just out of high school I didn't even think I'd get it so I kind of forgot about it over the summer. But last night when we facetimed Jessie, I got an email saying that.. I GOT THE INTERNSHIP!"
