(Nat's POV)

The leaves crunch under my feet as I move around to set the table. Since my family is coming over today I wanted to surprise Dawn with dinner outdoors. I lean in to fix the vase of flowers Lila helped me collect as Clint swats my hands away.

"If I have to watch you fix that vase one more time I will scream." Clint says as he squints his eyes at me.

"Clint everything has to be perfect. This is the first time Dawn is meeting my family outside of Yelena, and you know they can be chaotic."

"Nat, I don't know why you're worried...." Clint says as I send him a glare. "Okaaaay not worried. Everything's going to be great. Nat just stop for a second and look at me, okay. We are all here on the farm, there's not a threat in sight. We are outdoors preparing for an enjoyable family visit. Everyone knows to allow you and Dawn to have this special moment and not interrupt. Wanda and Pietro are helping cook the food. Breathe, just breathe. Everything is and will be fine."

"You're right...you're right. I'm just a little on edge. I want this to be perfect and Alexei can be as you know annoying and unpredictable. But-"

"No buts!" Clint interrupts. "Everything will be perfect. You know I wouldn't lie to you." He assures.

Nodding my head I gesture to the porch. Clint and I sit on the porch swing as we both watch Peter and the kids ride horses in the distance.

"How's Dawn?" I ask. Clint looks over with furrowed brows.

"She's fine as far as I know. I mean we do all live in the same house." He chuckles. "I believe she's upstairs sleeping at the moment. Why?"

"I don't know, she just seems a little off lately. Doesn't she seem off to you?" I ask as the breeze gently rocks the porch swing.

"Mmmm not to me. She seems like her normal self. I mean I'm finally out of the dog house so she seems perfect to me." Clint smiles.

I would have believed him if he wasn't smiling that particular smile he gets when he's trying to lie to me. He smiles a little wider than normal, his eyes squint ever so slightly around the edge, and his head tilts just to the side so he doesn't have to look me directly in the eye.

"So you're telling me that YOU, haven't noticed Dawn sleeping more than usual, and eating all hours of the day? And you're saying YOU haven't noticed everyone treating her more gingerly than usual? Or maybe when I went to place a bottle of wine at the dinner table Thor quickly snatched the bottle out of my hands and mentioned how it would not be good for Dawn's health. You really haven't noticed a thing?" I ask sending my best death glare Clint's way.

"Well...um- I um."

"Clint if there is something wrong with Dawn, you need to tell me. I want to make sure that she is healthy and happy just as much as everyone else. Dawn, being now one of my many soulmates, is the love of my life...my world. She accepted my past without hesitation and has given me a reason to believe that I am so much more than what the Red-room made me to be. Dawn has shown me that my ledger is clean and that I can finally forgive myself. If there is something serious you need to tell me, if not I'll go ask Dawn myself." I plead.

"Nat, Dawn is perfectly fine. She has a full bill of health, Thor is just overreacting. You know how he can be. Trust me Nat she's fine. Besides, you need to stop worrying and look forward to the surprise we've all planned for you. Just think by this time next week you'll have the best surprise of your life and all worries will be set aside." I chuckle as Clint nudges my shoulder mischievously.

"Okay I'll trust you, but if this surprise is just so Tony can throw a wild party-"

"No no, no wild parties. Just family bonding." He smiles as I shake my head in disbelief.
