Avengers New Dawn

In Laws pt. 4

(Dawn's POV)

After breakfast everyone piles into our Stark modified van with Happy at the wheel. The greenery is lush and inviting with fall color as we make our way to Ohio. Tony currently has the car blasting with ACDC as he and Morgan rock out to shoot to thrill. In the middle of the van, I'm snuggled between Pietro and Nat. Ever since the pregnancy announcement Nat refuses to leave my side, not that I mind. I'll take any excuse to spend more time with my mates. Bruce is in the passenger's seat next to Happy. The two are currently making conversation on what it was like for Bruce to grow up in Ohio.

Lila, Cooper, Clint, and Thor are seated behind us playing a game of I spy and punch buggy. Thor being the most animated out of the bunch is somewhat confused on why they are 'spying' on random objects. Loki is seated more towards the front of the van next to the super soldier squad and Sam. Loki has his usual irritated mug as he tries to read over their conversation and Tony's concert with Morgan. Bucky, Sam, and Steve are talking about last night's episode of Downton Abbey where Bates was on the run. Wands and Peter are seated between my row and Thor's playing tic tac toe. An intense game of tic tac toe I should add.

Resting my head on Pietro's shoulder I look out onto the various Ohio scenery. Rows and rows of green fall pastures and the occasional herd of cows can be seen as we make our way to Bruce's family home. Today I have the honor of meeting Bruce's mom Rebecca Banner, his aunt and uncle Elaine and Sheriff Walters, and his cousin Jennifer or Jen as he calls her. Tony told me that Jen also has the hulk gene so there is a possibility I might be seeing more than one hulk today.

I wanted to assure Bruce before we came that no matter what he can allow Hulk to be present. These people are just as much Hulk's family as they are his. And seeing as I've only had small momentary moments with Hulk I would actually like to get to know him for myself.

After driving for hours on end we finally arrived at the Banner residence. A charming white painted colonial house appears amongst the hillside. The windy road carries us to a bright red covered bridge. The stream below flows with water that is home to many countryside fish. Passing through the bridge we turn down the white picket fenced road. The land is filled with acres of grass, wild flowers, the occasional chicken, and a few monarch butterflies.

Pulling up in front of the house the Banner family reunion is in full swing. Jen, already in full She-Hulk persona, shows off her skills by lifting a full-on tractor with one arm.

"Hey, can I try lifting a tractor?" Cooper asks excitedly.

"No." Everyone responds simultaneously.

"I don't know why don't we let the boy test his strength? Then he can finally say he has become a man." Thor asks.

"Thor, please don't encourage him." Nat asks.

"I don't know Cooper, it looks like these Midgardians have apple bobbing, why don't you try that? Although, I don't know why anyone would waste their time sticking their head in water for an apple." Loki mentions.

Piling out of the car everyone is met with the warm welcome of the Banner family. Bruce goes on to introduce everyone to his family. Jen and Bruce take the time to give us a small tour before we head to the house.

"So how are you all liking Ohio?" Jen asks.

"It's very green." Tony responds.

"It's wonderful. The drive over was absolutely marvelous." I interject.

"That's great, I was thinking after the bar-b-que we could all try a few games and maybe even some square dancing." Jennifer says as she shimmies lightly.
