1 - Origin

Chapter 1, Origin, Start.

Xiao, or how people would address him as, if they did not know him personally, Adeptus Xiao, would be standing on the bridge, looking off into the horizon, sort of admiring the water, as the sun sets for the day, that would be when he sensed a presence walking onto the bridge, which he'd turn his attention to, only to see Aether and that. flying toddler.

"Xiao!" - Aether said cheerfully, as he approached Xiao, waving slightly to him

"Traveller? What do you need?" 

"Ah, I am going off to do commissions, I had needed to cross the bridge, but noticed you here, so I thought to say hi!"

Xiao felt his cheeks slightly burning up, before looking away for a moment

"I see, well I don't need you to stop and say hello to me everytime I am here, Traveller, you have other things to attend to, don't waste your time on me." - Xiao lamented

Aether looks at Xiao with a worry in his eyes

"Oh Xiao.. I always stop to say hi because your one of my greatest friends, you know you mean a lot to me, right?"

friends, right, we were always seen as friends, you see me as a friend, nothing more - Xiao thought to himself

"Yes, I know, Traveller, but you are busy, you have things you need to do, so stop wasting your time on me! I am not worth your time!" - Xiao hissed

"Jeez, what's his problem today?" - Paimon pouted a bit

"Maybe he needs time alone, Paimon, let's go." - Aether concluded

Aether didn't say anything else to Xiao, as he and Paimon walked off to the other side of the bridge, going to do commissions

"Fuck." - Xiao mumbled

Xiao puts his hand on his forehead in frustration

Why did I lash out at traveller like that? what a dick move of me, I'll have to apologize to him later on once I get the chance, if I do.

Time has passed

Aethers POV:

I just had finished my last commission for today, but there was something that I had trouble getting out of my mind for past few hours, Xiao lashing out at me, why did that hurt so much? I mean I'm quite used to it because this is normally how he is, but I didn't quite expect that from him after I was just checking up on him, maybe I shouldn't think about it too much, maybe something had happened, I don't know, for now, I will leave Xiao alone until he wishes to speak to me.

"AETHER!!!" - Paimon yelled, snapping me out of my trance

"Ah- sorry, I got lost in thought, Paimon." 

"Lost in thought? You weren't answering Paimon for 24 minutes!!" - Paimon Rambled

"Sorry, sorry." - I gently laughed, putting my hand behind my head nervously

"Hmph! What got you stuck in thought for 24 minutes?"

I laughed gently but also nervously
