Luz decides to head out instead of digging around for trash leaving King and Eda. Eda doesn't seem to mind at all but King is absolutely fed up with the slugs. He starts to think of ways to escape digging but starts to think of Luz in the short time he's already used to her. He believes the reason why is because of him.

He knew he wanted to talk to Eda about him. He wanted to for a long time a month since he left. He remembers details of him leaving. Even if he was only four. The arguing, packing bags, no words of encouragement but only predictions of future failure, not to mention them both apologizing to him for yelling in front of him. Separately of course.

But now with Luz around it was an even better chance to ask. This must've been a sign to give king a clear to talk about the human they once knew. At least that's what king thought. Plus he was worried about how Luz would feel if she knew there was another human in this realm. That's what pushed him further.

"Hey Eda, do you ever think that you would tell Luz about him? You know Uncle Y/N." Eda stopped digging through the trash. The thought of remembering him made her hand tremble. She wasn't used to getting into her past. "You know Luz shouldn't have to feel alone."

"I- I don't... Um, know King. Your right Luz shouldn't feel alone but I don't even know if I'm willing to go that far for her. Not to mention I don't enjoy dwelling on a lost past. Why are you asking all of a sudden." The little demon started to play with his fingers and looked around nervously while Eda tried staring him down.

"Well, actually I wanted to ask about him for a while now. More like a couple of years. But I was worried you'd just shut me down, but now that Luz is here I was thinking I could get a hopeful answer." Eda took a while thinking about this making King scared by the silence.

"Look I- I just um... Don't know ok. I know well enough from Y- him that being the only one of your kind is lonely in a place like this but, I don't think I can face him again. Plus Luz seems fine for now." Eda dug through more trash trying to take her mind off of things.

As much as she tried it didn't work. She kept having her mind drawn back to the fight, him packing up, the after days anger which turned into regret. Tears fell onto the trash in front of her. Sounds soft weeps she couldn't keep in reached King's ears making them lower and giving him a sense of regret from this conversation.

"Hey, Eda I'm sorry alright. I didn't mean to make you sad by bringing him up. I never much other people from your family, so I kinda miss him." King's heartbeat started rising out of fear hoping he wouldn't be yelled at. Not that Eda ever did but he just made her cry.

"King it's ok I just wish that it didn't end like this. My family I mean. But I think your right. I wouldn't want Luz feeling alone here. I'll think about it." King started to calm down. Those words made him feel a little better but he still thought of a way to Change the conversation.

"You know Luz would probably feel better if you actually taught her magic. I bet I can even teach her better than you." Eda smirked at his words ready to make him regret it.

"You know I only make bets to embarrass you right?" She looked around and saw an egg grabbing it with a thought already. She turned to face him with a cocky grin and walked over to him while he hopped back onto the ground and met her halfway. "What's your terms?"

"Well, you teach this trash slug to be a loyal servant in one day. If you can do that then Luz is officially your student. And I'll tell her about Y/N. But if you can't then we're changing your name to Mr. Wiggles."

He pointed an accusing finger at her "Well when you lose, you'll have to... wear a shame hat and sleep in a shack and never come into the Owl House again!" Eda looked at King and held a finger to her chin.
