A/N: Work was brutal, which is why this was late. I'm so sorry. But I should be updating this week some time. Thanks for sticking with. Enjoy!

Hands tore at clothes, baring my skin.

The air felt impossibly thick. Terror mounted inside me as the scent of their arousal filled the are around me. "What the fuck are you doing?"

Despite being soft, the man's voice boomed throughout the area, making the men go still. A broken sob tore through chest. I was scared, alone, and my poor pup was still at home where those horrible beasts were. I couldn't get the unsightly image of Andy's violent death out of my mine either. I didn't care what he'd almost done to me--he did not deserve to die like that. No wolf did.

"Following your orders sir," the largest wolf said after a long moment. "We found 'im."

"Mmhm. Now. What were you planning to do with him?"

He took a step forward, his face suddenly lit up by the crackling fire a few yards away from us. His black eyes were hard. His painfully handsome was drawn in a tight, cold snarl. My wolf began to whimper. Not in fear but in... What was this feeling? The fear of the situation melted away: this wolf gave me peace. The anxiety about my pup was still present however but all I could really do was stare at this beautiful man. His chest was bare. It was sculpted and tan. A pair of loose shorts hung onto his hips, displaying a perfect 'V'.

"Uh s-sell him? To the whore house?" The man said quietly, as if he was now cry unsure of his actions.

My eyes widened at his words, renewing my efforts to scrabble away. "A whore house?" The man laughed without humor, stepping even closer. There was an aura of power around him. One I'd never felt before. "You want to sell my mate to a whore house?"

The night went dead silent. It seemed even the crickets were stunned the words said. Mate? He was my mate? My wolf seems to wither in pure joy at these words while I just used the opportunity to get away from the awful men, pulling on my pants only to find they'd ripped the button off. My scrap of shirt was useless as well but I still stumbled away from the scene, desperate get back home to my pup. A large hand closed over my bicep, pulling me back. I looked at my...mate...with worry and fear. What was going to happen? "Don't run from me, love." He said softly, tilting my head up to look at me.

His face was still now, eyes wide and searching as they ran over my face. "I never thought you existed." he breathed, then turned abruptly, leading me away from the violence behind me.

I found myself looking back however, seeing the men looking at each other in confusion. "Wh-where are you taking me?"

The man stilled, turning around slowly. "Your voice is so beautiful. Please, speak again."

"Where are you taking me?" I asked a second tirm, trying to get control of my wolf's rife to bare my neck to my mate. I still wasn't sure of this man. And I couldn't handle the pain of a second rejection.

"Home, darling. Home with me. I have a wonderful house, just perfect for you. I know you'll love it--"

"I can't go home with you," I said, shaking my head, trying to take a step back. "I need to go home. My pup is there, my life is there--"

"Pup?" The man's tone was deadly. "I'll kill it. You have no connection to any man but me. I'm your mate. Do you understand?"

My eyes widening in horror. "N-no," I stammered, growing cold with fright. "You can't do that! I-I reject you. I, Colton, reject you...who-whoever you are--"

Pain flashed across his face before he snarled. "I won't allow it," he roared. "You're mine. And you'll love me. You just need time."

Lifted me off the ground with ease, throwing me over his shoulder, carelessly, like a sack of flour. Winded by his hard, muscular shoulder driving into my stomach, I gasped for air. Tears of fear gathered in my eyes. If he hurt my pup I could never live with myself. Jeffery was right about everything. I should have gone home. I couldn't defend myself or my pup against threats. It just felt like everything was happening all at once and--
