As I unlocked the door and pushed it open, a sense of relief washed over me as I stepped into my room. Soft, ambient lighting greeted me, casting a warm glow that instantly made me feel at home. The space was elegantly furnished with modern touches, from the cosy bed adorned with plush pillows to the sleek desk nestled in the corner. A large window overlooked the vibrant city below, offering a mesmerising view of the bustling streets. Taking a deep breath, I felt a wave of gratitude for the tranquil sanctuary that awaited me after a hectic day of travel.

As I entered the room, Charles followed closely behind, carrying my luggage with ease. "Wow, what a cosy space," he remarked, casting an appreciative glance around the room.

I smiled in agreement, feeling a sense of contentment settle over me as I took in the inviting atmosphere. "Yeah, it's lovely," I replied, setting my bag down on the bed. "Thanks for helping with the luggage, Charles."

"Of course, anything for you," he said with a playful wink, eliciting a laugh from me. "So, what's the plan now? Are you ready to unwind or do you have something in mind?"

I paused to consider his question, feeling a wave of exhaustion wash over me after the long journey. "Honestly, I think I'll just take it easy for now," I admitted, sinking down onto the bed with a sigh. "Maybe order some room service, I'm starving."

He chuckled softly, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "When are you not?" he teased, a playful grin spreading across his face.

I couldn't help but laugh along with him, appreciating his lighthearted banter. "Fair point," I conceded with a grin of my own. "But hey, a little relaxation never hurt anyone, right?"

Charles nodded in agreement, his expression warm and understanding. "Absolutely," he replied. "You deserve it."

As Charles reached the door, he turned back to me with a smile. "Well, I'll leave you to it then," he said, his tone gentle.

"Wait, so you're leaving already?" I asked, a hint of disappointment creeping into my voice. "I thought you could stay a little longer."

"Actually," he began, his voice trailing off as he hesitated, "maybe I can stay a little longer. I can spare a bit more time."

"Perfect, you know we haven't really talked in a while. But before we continue, do you want to order something?" I said as I reached for the menu.

"What do they have?" he asks, his curiosity piqued.

We settled on the classic choice of hamburger and fries, a comfort food combination that never fails to hit the spot. Lounging on the balcony, we relaxed in a round outdoor daybed, taking in the breathtaking views that Bahrain had to offer. As the night progressed, a gentle breeze turned into a gusty wind, sending a chill through me. I found myself reaching for warmth, now clad in my green silk long-sleeve pyjama set. Despite the sudden change in weather, the serene atmosphere of the evening remained, providing the perfect backdrop for our relaxed conversation and shared moments of camaraderie.
