(AN: this chapter is a little different, but I like it so I hope you do too)
to Ashton Irwin: Hey there, Dimples.
from Ashton Irwin: Nick? of course you'd call me that.
to Ashton Irwin: Of course you'd call me Nick. Are we on a nickname basis now?
from Ashton Irwin: Yes! I mean, if that's okay with you.
to Ash:) : That's fine, Ash. what's my name in your phone? yours is Ash:)
from Ash:) : Yours is Nick:P
to Ash:) : That makes me sound like a guy.
from Ash:) : if you were a guy, I wouldn't put a smiley by your name:) xx
to Ash:) : oh wow, thanks. I feel soooo special
from Ash:) : You should! you've earned it.
to Ash:) : well, Ashton, what are you up to?
from Ash:) : Just talking to this really beautiful girl I met a few days ago
to Ash:) : she's a lucky girl, can I see a picture of this mystery beauty?
from Ash:) : I don't have a picture, but I can tell you about her if you'd like
I stared at my phone. He was serious. He wasn't joking about me, he actually met another girl. Ignoring the pounding in my chest and swallowing the lump in my throat, I started typing.
to Ash:) : sure, why not? if she's so great
from Ash:) : well, she has these amazing green eyes. the kind that just make you want to get lost in them, like swimming in this green ocean of gold flecks and gray surrounding them. and there's this dusting of freckles across her nose. her lips are so pink, I just want to kiss her but that would mean I can't see the perfect way they shape her words. when she smiles her eyes crinkle at the edges and she gets these little dimples at the tops of her cheeks, it's so cute. I want to make her smile all the time. her hair frames her face so perfectly, in these loose waves that she seems so hate but I love so much. I like her hair down. she's small, but she's so confident it makes me happy just being around her. she doesn't get flustered when j embarrass her and she fires back insults when i tease her. she's absolutely beautiful.
I look across the room to my mirror, taking in my reflection. The dusting of freckles across my nose meet my green eyes. They stretch across my cheeks to my long wavy brown hair, and down to my pink lips. I smile, just to see. Little dimples form at the tops of my cheekbones.
to Ash:) : Well damn, Ash. I didn't know you liked me
from Ash:) : You're so cute.
to Ash:) : can you come over?
from Ash:) : now?
to Ash:) : yeah, I need to talk to you about something in person. I know it's late. my apartment number is 528, it's the building up the street from pikes place
(IDK WHERE APARTMENT PLACES ARE IN SEATTLE JUST GO WITH IT )from Ash:) : okay, I'll be there in five
I jumps up off my bed and ran my fingers through my hair, trying to make it look decent. I had already taken off my makeup for the day and changed into my favorite purple sports bra and some joggers. Melissa and Michael were asleep, or at least had gone to their rooms for the night. I heard a light tap on the door , and walked down the hall to let Ashton in.
"Hey." he said quietly, smiling at me.
"Hey." I grinned, but it faded quickly when I remembered what I asked him to come over for.
"What's wrong, Nick?" his hushed voice sent shivers down my spine, just like the first day I heard the accented tone.
"Come with me." I quietly led him to my room, not even thinking of what it seemed like.
He chuckled. "Wow, Nicole. already?"
"Shut up."
I sat on my bed, tucking my hands under my legs after motioning for Ashton to sit on the blue blanket I had grabbed earlier that night.
"Is everything okay?"
"Look, I know I just met you, but I feel like I can trust you. I'm not asking for attention, I promise." I took a deep breath and looked into his worried kaleidoscope eyes before continuing. "All those things you said about me, I don't believe. Yeah, I have brown hair and green eyes and freckles. But I hate my smile, my damn stomach and thighs. I just hate it. My hair is frizzy and never goes how I want it, my dimples are just annoying. My nose is like a pig, Ash. I can't look in a mirror and like anything I see. I've struggled since middle school, and it's not getting better."
Ashton didn't say anything. His concerned eyes floated across my features and he placed his large hand over my small one, rubbing soft circles on my thumb.
"Nicole."
I looked down at my lap.
"You're absolutely beautiful. You're curvy and perfectly sized, your smile is my favorite thing. Your laugh is my favorite sound, if I could make you laugh every second of every day then I would. I could drown in your eyes, Nick. I want to. I want to kiss away every tear you cry and smile with you through all the good times. Let me be your friend, let me be here for you."
"Okay." I whispered hoarsely, through the tears that had fallen into my cheeks. He pulled me into him, wrapping his strong arms around me.
"I know I just met you, and this is happening fast. But please know that I want to be your friend, and you can always come to me if you need anything." Ashton whispers into my hair.
"Thank you." I breathe.(that's it! okay, this isn't going to be the "they meet and fall in love after a week" type of book, don't worry. lol. nah, Nicole just needed a friend and Ashton was being his amazing self and helped her. leave some comments?? xx)
