Moms store was becoming so popular, of course along with my bakery too. It took only a year for everyone in town to hear about sunshine stitches and bakery. Everyone wanted a beautiful hand made dress or a delicious home made cupcake. Then one day I was cooking in my kitchen and mom was sewing when I heard the bells on the door ring. That's peculiar. Who would be coming in this early? We weren't even open yet. Then I heard mom shout, "Oh. My. Gosh. Damian?" Damian? Then it hit me. Of course why didn't think about that. "Hello Sarah. It's been a long time"
"Too long. Obviously your doing well, being King and all. How's your family? Are they taking Queen Jasmines leaving ok?" Oh ya I'd forgotten. Queen Jasmine left the royal with no trace a few months ago. "For the most part, the seem to be more worried about me though. Jasmine was my only true love." There was a short pause. "Well my only true love besides you, but we both know how that turned out." No. No. No. Mom you will not date again. You have terrible luck. Even in my head I could tell I was being selfish. Mom worked so hard, and for once she should get what she wants, a happy ending. Mom should be able to date, and hey if she thinks she can pull a king, well I guess I say go for it. I just hope she doesn't get hurt again. "Hey I have an idea!" King Rondal said breaking the awkward silence, "Why don't I take you out for a horse ride this weekend, it'll be just like old times." Mom looked shocked, but pleased with the question. "Oh I don't know. I have the shop and who will watch the kids and." She was just going to go on forever if I didn't stop her now " I will watch the kids and take care of the shop." Mom stopped. "Oh Annabelle I don't know. You have a lot on your plate with the bakery. You don't need to."
"No, but I want to. I really really want to." I was more trying to convince myself than I was her. "Well, ok than! I would be happy to your majesty!"
"Oh Sara-Lynn. You were always calling me that. Please it's just Damian." Bleh! You think you will get use to your mom dating again. You think it would be easier after a while to see people flirting with her. But that is not true at all. It only gets grosser and grosser and grosser! King Damian bent down and kissed moms hand. (Bleh... again!) "Until tomorrow Sara." Mom blushed like a teenager and mumbled something that I was to far away to hear. I can't believe he called her Sara. The last person who called her that left us. However, what was more unbelievable is that she didn't mind. She didn't seem to care that the man who originally gave her that nickname had left, and no man, not even a rich king could fix that. I knew I was being selfish again, but I deeply hoped that this date was a disaster. After the king left I just went back to decorating my cupcakes which made mom ticked. "So you don't want to know this guys life story? You don't want to know why a king would ask me to go horse riding? You don't want to know why he insisted I call him Damian?"
"No."
"Really!" I knew she was not going to give up. This was really weird. She actually wanted to discuss her love life with her teenage daughter? I sighed, "No mom I do not want to know his life story because, one, I am not a stalker and, two, he's a king. If I wanted to I could go to the, library and find out his grandma's dog's favorite color. Also I figure its probably because you two were suppose to get married that he asked you to go horse riding and why he insisted you call him Damian." Mom starred at her feet the whole time, and when I finished she simply said "Ok." and left the room. She was silent the rest of the day. I could tell I offended her, but why. Why was she offended. She never cared this much about anyone, not us, not Adrian, since  dad. Did she? No! She wouldn't! Mom wasn't just flirting. She was falling in love!
