" Daddy!" Squealed Elizabeth. Everyone else was to shocked to speak. "Hey angel." Finally everyone got their breaths back. We talked for almost an hour. Then mom said, "Girls I didn't know how to tell you guys, but. Well I told your dad while he was in a coma, but he probably did't hear." Dad lightly shook his head. I could tell he was just as curious as the rest of us. " You guys are going to have a new baby sister or brother." Everyone was in shock. Dad spoke first "That's great news!" Then we all wanted to talk.We talked about what's it name would be. Dad just smiled through it all. He didn't really make any noise at all until Genevieve suggested Rainbow for a girls name. He laughed and said " Geni you always are so creative. That's sounds great. Let's take a vote. All in favor of Rainbow for a girl." Everyone raised their hands, probably just to satisfy Genevieve. So if I have another baby sister it's going to be called Rainbow. We all bursts out laughing. Then dad spoke, his voice even weaker than before. " Girls I love you so much. Geni, keep those creative dreams going. Lucy, become that ballerina you wanted to be. Lizzy, don't forget to keep begging mom for a puppy." Mom gave him a annoyed glare but even she couldn't help but laugh with everyone else. Everyone except me. I knew what this was. He was dying again. I knew I couldn't cry though. I had to stay strong. I had to. Then dad started again. "Lexi, become that doctor you want to be. I know you'll be a good one. And Annie, oh Annie Annie. Take care of mom, and your new brother or sister. You were always my little angel. Now I'll be your big angel." It finally clicked with everyone else and mom was fighting back tears again."Sarah- Lynn don't cry. Your a fantastic mom now, and that baby is going to be so lucky. I love you. I will be watching over you." Then his voice become hardly audible and I squeezed his hand. "Dad, no you can't! Your better now. You'll heal. Dad, no, please" "I love you guys." And that was it. His chest fell for the last time. A single tear fell down my cheek and I wiped it away. As the doctor pulled the white sheet over him I whispered "I love you too daddy. I love you too" Then I excused myself out of the room so I could cry. I sat in a bathroom stall crying. Crying and thinking. I was going to have a new sibling, and that sibling isn't going to know how great their dad was. I wiped my tears, dried my face, and put on yet another fake smile. I walked back out to the waiting room. One look at my family and I was fighting back tears again. Mom was holding Lucy and Geni on her lap. I sat down next to her, Lexi hugged me. Then Elizabeth sat on my lap and whispered. "Will you call me Lizzy now?" I shook my head " That's you and dads thing." Her faint smile turned into a frown again. "But Liz could be our thing." Her small smile came back across her face, and she wiped away her tears. Soon everyone but me and mom where sleeping. We woke up Lexi and carried the triplets to the car. As soon as we got home we all went straight to bed. We had a long week ahead of us. As soon as my head hit my head hit the pillow I started to cry. I was sure Lexi could hear me through the thin walls, but I was done being strong. That night I cried myself to sleep and only got a few hours of sleep.

Dads funeral was three days later. It was one of the moments where you think you've cried so much you can't cry anymore but tears still flow out. Mom looked exhausted, and I could tell she had slept even less than I had that week. We sat through an hour of people giving us their sympathy, an hour of tears, and another hour without dad. When we went out to the cemetery we all laid a flower down on his freshly dug grave. A lot of soldiers flew over all the way from Xing. "He was the best soldiers I've ever seen." His patrol officer said "I couldn't think of anyone who would deserve this more than him" He handed us a Purple Heart. "Thank you" I was close to crying but didn't. Many more soldiers came and talked to us after that but I didn't really listen. Then I heard a name. "Hello. I'm Jamison Jones." I didn't know weather to yell at him for being so careless and blind, or thank him for getting back at the idiot who shot him and helping my dad be able to come back to say goodbye. " Charles was an amazing man. He always was putting others before himself, and thanks to him, my kids still have a dad." Six little kids where standing by him, the oldest probably no older then ten, and his wife was holding a brand new babe. "Me and my family have never been more great full . If there is anything you need, anything at all, don't hesitate to call." He handed us a number written down on a sheet of paper with the most beautiful handwriting I had ever seen. "Thank you" we said. Mom and him talked for a while but I tuned out. Looking around I counted over 100 soldiers. Over 100 soldiers where able to come here from Xing. I couldn't even imagine what it would be like if there was no war and every soldier was here. I wondered if the soldier who killed my dad would have a funeral like this. If all of his soldiers friends he knew would come. Then I remembered mom said the soldier was the only one. Did his fellow soldiers even know he was dead? Did his family? Did they even care? Then Liz tapped me on the shoulder. "It's time to go."
"Ok I said" I was ready anyways. I tossed one more handful of dirt on the spot where dad was buried. "Bye dad."
