" What? You're going on a job? But the wedding is less than a month away!" Lucy yelled.
"I still need to work Luce," Natsu said calmly, but to himself he added and buy you that ring. Besides, this job should only take a couple days and all the wedding preparations are almost done. All I have to do is beat up this dark wizard, collect the reward, and come home. It should take three days max," He finished, shouldering his large pack.
"Fine, then I'm going too," Lucy said, crossing her arms.
"Lucy you should stay home, rest, and prepare for the wedding. I don't want you to get hurt."
"I don't want you to get hurt either!"
"Just please Lucy, stay home this time, for me? Don't forget I have Happy," gently, Natsu lifted Lucy's chin and looked her in the eyes.
Lucy stared back. Finally, her eyes softened. "Okay, but just be careful. I don't want to lose you too." The beginning of tears formed in her eyes.
"Don't worry, I'm a Fairy Tail wizard remember?" suddenly, Natsu pulled Lucy in for a long kiss.
When they ran out of air, he whispered, "I gotta go now, I'll be back in several days."
Then, Natsu jumped out her window, where Happy was waiting behind the glass and they ran off to wherever they had to go.
Lucy smiled as she watched them go; but she couldn't shake the bad feeling that was lurking in the back of her head.
