Thursday afternoon...
"STREET! LET'S GO! LET'S GO!" Sergeant Daniel 'Hondo' Harrelson Jr yelled, holding Black Betty's back door.
The young officer came rushing in, still fitting his vest and holster, fighting with his boots and straps. Chopper was taking off in HQ's lot, sirens blasted off the streets and dozens of officers were running to their vehicles. The noise was unbearable!
"WHERE'S DEACON?" Officer Dominique Luca called from the front.
"DON'T KNOW. HICKS WAS GONNA CALL HIM!" Officer Victor Tan called from the passenger seat.
"LET'S GO, LUCA!" Hondo called.
"WAIT! WE'RE MISSING"- Officer James Street called, grabbing Hondo's hand on one of the doors, before he could slam it shut.
"I'M HERE! I'M HERE!" Officer Zoe Powell called as she ran towards the truck, still fidgeting her hair unto a pony tail. Vest half placed, boots in hand and her weapon on another. "HICKS CALLED. GOT ME OUT OF THE SEMINAR!" she announced, halting just outside of the tank.
"GET IN! GET IN! LET'S GO!" Hondo called.
The young female officer jumped in and Hondo immediately locked up both doors. Black Betty was on the way, following the caravan of patrol cars exiting the yard.

"Deacon, where the hell are you?" Commander Robert Hicks asked out loud, desperate for the officer to finally answer the phone. It was call number 4 in the last five hours. No one could recall what happened to Sgt. David 'Deacon' Kay who exited in the morning on a rush.

"Hello?" answered a young man.
"Hello? I'm calling Sergeant Kay's phone. Who's this?" Hicks demanded, placing both hand on his hips and wearing a deep frown.
"Uh..." the young man stuttered. "This is Matthew, sir. Eleven David. Sergeant Kay is in the hospital with the rest of us: my mother, both of my sisters, my brother and me. I have his phone for now. He told me not to answer it, but...I recognized your number. Sir."
"Oh my God! What happened?" Hicks asked desperately alarmed.
"I'm not supposed to give details, but... they're all sick!" the young man answered.
Deep breathe. Just what SWAT needed!
After shift and two hours of overtime...
"Rubio, finish up your homework and get ready for bed! We're late!" Officer Street called from the couch. "Did you eat at the center?"
"Yeah. The boys I tutor bring me food." Rubio, his 14 yrs old, called from his room.
Street could hear the TV on, but he didn't want to move. He couldn't. Just a couple of hours ago, his squad finished dealing with a horrible situation. That afternoon they got a call to intervene in a riot that was happening at south LA between LAPD and gang members. It got so bad, gang members were combating the officer with homemade torches and grenades and innocent people were getting caught in the crossfire!
By the time SWAT came in and began throwing gas at the crowd, things had escalated and gotten pretty ugly between both sides. Hondo ended up with stitches on his torso, a torn lip, Powell had blood gushing out of her nose, while he and Tan had to deal with a mob of twenty gang members that went at them with fireworks, firecrackers and other clandestine explosives. Only one safe was Luca, who had to miss the action with court mandated psych session with Dr. Wendy after coming at a suspect during interrogation.
