Mia was finally discharged from the hospital at 11:27 that night. They ordered an Uber to go back to Mia's house. Amelia, Mia and Vada arrived and made it into the house sluggishly.
"Damn I'm so tired." Vada groaned and followed with a yawn.
"Where am I going to sleep?" Amelia asked.
"We have a guest bedroom right in there," Mia replied pointing down the hall. "There's an extra toothbrush and clothes in there too."
Amelia thanked her and made her way to the bedroom.
"Come here." Vada ordered grabbing Mia by the waist, making sure she didn't hurt her. They stood there for a solid 2 minutes hugging. As she tucked her head into Mia's neck, she left out a sigh of relief. She pulled back and quietly whispered "kiss me."
Mia jolted her eyes from Vada's eyes to her lips and back up again. She gulped getting nervous.
Vada licks her lips and says "please"
Mia leans in for a passionate kiss. There lips moving together perfectly. Mia let's out a soft moan giving Vada butterflies.
"Come to bed." Mia says lacing their fingers together and slowly pulling her into her room.
Vada shuts the door behind them and walks over to Mia whose sitting on her bed looking up at her. Vada hovers over her lifting up her chin while standing between Mia's legs. Vada let's out a little laugh.
"What?" Mia said with a confused expression plastered on her face. Vada just stared at her unable to say what's on her mind.
"Vada, what's up? Just tell me." Mia persisted.
"It's just crazy. No matter what terrible situation we go through, as long as I have you at the end of the day I'm okay. It terrifies me..." Vada said.
They paused for a moment and Vada was visibly nervous. To comfort her, Mia grabbed her wrist and pulled her into her. Vada wrapped her arms around her neck and looked into her eyes.
"I'm in love with you.." Vada spoke softly.
Mia grabbed her face gently and kissed her. "I'm in love with you too."
...
It was the next morning when Vada woke up to the sound of a phone going off. She rubbed her face and tried to open her eyes.
"Babe I think someone is texting you." Vada said while moving the hair out her face.
"Ughhh can you check it for me." Mia said with her eyes still closed.
Vada opened Mia's phone and read the text from "Evie".
"Hey beautiful, just wanted to check up on you."
Vada's stomach dropped and instantly felt like she was punched in the gut.
