Mia stood at Vada's front door with pure panic setting in. It all felt so surreal. The uncertainty of Vada's reaction led her to ponder at the door until she heard the door unlock."Oh hey Mia," Amelia said with a blank expression. "Vada told me you guys weren't on speaking terms?"
Mia slightly smiled at how oblivious she was.
"Yeah that's.. uh.. kinda why I'm here." Mia stated, playing with her sleeve.
"Oh okay! Well she's in her room. Mom and dad are out to eat and my friend is picking me up." She says pointing at the car that just pulled in their driveway.
"Oh have fun.. wish me luck." Mia nervously chuckled.
"Yeah you're going to need it." Amelia stated in a serious tone making terror overlook her face.
Amelia got in the backseat and they drove off, leaving Mia to look back at the open door leading to the Cavell's house. She closed her eyes drawing as much air as she could into her lungs and then breathing it out.
She made her way to her bedroom door and knocked softly.
"Amelia why are you still here?!" Vada yelled from the other side of the door.
Mia tensed up from her response but decided to just get this over with. She opened the door slowly revealing Vada sitting upright on her bed."Vada." Mia said quietly, her voice expressing remorse.
Vada remained quiet, her mouth slightly open from shock.
"Your sister let me in," She said clearing her throat.
"Look, you don't have to say anything. I just needed to make sure you were okay." Mia paused, glancing at her, seeing how she's taking this all in.
"I also need to get this off my chest and then I'll leave," Mia said hesitantly, her voice shaking now.
"I want you to know that I would never cheated on you. The girl saved my life and asked me to update her when I got home, so I did. I had no idea she was going to call me beautiful and it's not like I told her I had a girlfriend at the hospital. I was barely even responsive as it was. Vada you are the reason I wake up in the morning as cliché and cringy as that sounds it's the truth. With everything that's happened between us our bond is something I've never had before," Mia takes in a huge breath as Vada gulps hard not knowing how to respond.
"Falling for you was the easiest f*cking thing I've ever done. That feeling I felt when I first kissed you doesn't compare to anything." Mia is so worked up at this point, tears rolling down her face.
"Mia." Vada said in such a soft tone that Mia didn't hear it.
"All I want is to see you happy. If that's eventually with someone else then so be it. As long as your happy. That's all I care about and that you don't hate me then—"
"Mia!" Vada said trying to get the pacing girl's attention. Mia looked with her eyes shining and her shaky voice coming to a halt.
"Please just sit down." Vada motioned her to sit on the bed. They both sat there in silence for a few minutes trying to figure out what to say.
"Love isn't supposed to hurt like this." Mia said while still looking down as her hand were fidgeting with her pants.
"It hurts because it's real," Vada let out making Mia look at her with a blank expression.
