Percy blew a party horn in Annabeth's ear. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ANNABETH!"
Annabeth groaned and put the pillow over her ear.
"Can't you let your pregnant wife sleep a little longer?" Annabeth said groggily.
"Annabeth, I understand that you're 35 weeks pregnant, but it's your birthday today." He got into the bed and kissed Annabeth's bump. It made her feel all fuzzy inside.
"Percy, I'm tired. I was working on my project late last night."
"Annabeth, please?"
Annabeth faced the opposite way.
"I know that if I look at your face, I'm going to give in."
Percy got out of bed and walked over to see Annabeth's face. She smiled.
"Percy, if you don't let me sleep, your baby won't grow. Would you like that?"
"Fine," Percy huffed. "I'll wake you in an hour." He walked over to the door.
"Thanks, Seaweed Brain. Love you!"
"Love you too!"
Annabeth smiled at the fact that she was able to sleep more.
"Wait! Percy, come back! Zoë's kicking."
Percy walked in. He lifted Annabeth's shirt and put her hand over her bump.
"How does it feel?"
"Like she's giving me love."
"How about I give you love?" He kissed her. "Sleep."
~~~~~
Annabeth woke up on her own. That extra hour of sleep had never felt so good.
She looked to the left and noticed the note on the bedside table.
"Sorry, babe. I just realised I had a surfing competition I can't miss. Happy birthday! Love you!" She read out.
Annabeth sighed. She was feeling really bummed that Percy couldn't celebrate her birthday with her. But she decided not to let that ruin her birthday too much. Annabeth took a shower, made herself breakfast and then walked over to Jason and Piper's house (they got married like a month ago).
She knocked on the door. Jason opened the door.
"Happy birthday, Annabeth!"
"Thanks! Um, I was just wondering if Piper's in there?"
"No, sorry, you just missed her. She's got a client (Piper's head of a makeup company that makes young girls feel more beautiful)."
"But she's a week past her due date! Shouldn't she be resting at home?"
"Piper takes things quite seriously with her business."
"Fair enough. Anyways, I'm gonna go, but thanks, Jason!"
"Bye."
In a desperate attempt to celebrate her birthday with someone, Annabeth went to Hazel's house (they all lived quite close to each other).
Again, she knocked on a door. This time, Hazel opened the door.
"Happy birthday, Annabeth!" Hazel hugged her on the side of her body.
"Thank you. Is it okay if we hang? Not gonna lie, I'm feeling kinda lonely."
"Oh, I'm sorry. Wait, where's Percy?"
"He's in a surfing competition."
Hazel nodded and let Annabeth in.
"Before we talk, can you try this maternity dress that I designed? It's made of sleeping bags."
