3rd of August
[Percy and Annabeth were going to be married at New Rome, but they weren't going to live there. They've already finished uni btw]
This was the day. The day when Annabeth's last name would be Jackson. The day that made Percy and Annabeth's lives change forever.
Percy was shaking. He was so happy, yet so nervous. He couldn't picture the fact that the love of his life was about to get married to him.
Annabeth wasn't much worse. She stayed perfectly still when Aphrodite was doing her hair, makeup and nails. ( She's wearing the same dress as the picture above, and imagine, some white high heels. Percy's wearing a baby blue suit, with black shoes) She didn't even say a word. And her hands were shaking as well.
They both had something in common - they were both so amazed and overwhelmed. Both excited and nervous. The wedding was finally happening.
Poseidon went to see Percy.
"Hello, Percy."
He was there, his eyes pinpointed at a wedding invitation.
No response.
"Percy?"
Again, silence.
"PERSEUS JACKSON!"
"Perseus Jackson, reporting for duty!" Percy squeaked. He was trembling and had his arm in the salute gesture.
"Percy, what is going on? You didn't even answer me. Me, a god! If it was Ares, he would have turned you into a hog." Poseidon asked.
"I'm sorry, Dad. I was just thinking."
"Thinking about what?"
Buckle up, readers. Hope you've got your seatbelts on. It's rambling time.
"I don't know if Annabeth loves me! What if she doesn't? There are times when she just wants to be alone, without me? Does she not want to be with me? I don't want to think she is cheating on me, but is she? I'm just little old me, just Percy Jackson. She is Annabeth Chase. She always has guys falling over themselves for her! Me, I'm someone else who is just so oblivious! I'm not even muscular like Jason! I have no good qualities! What if-"
"Let me stop you there. First of all, Annabeth does love you! Have you seen how many times she has bent the rules for you? Second, sometimes you have to leave her alone. You cannot expect someone to be with you every second of the day. She is still her own person. Third, you are Percy Jackson. My son, you were so popular at that high school. And you've got muscles. Your chest is so defined that every young lady wants to touch it."
Percy blushed at that thought.
"But still, she's Annabeth. She's so perfect."
Poseidon shook his head. "Ah, Percy. The mind of a god is so different than the mind of a mortal. I have seen many instances like this. The men have run away because they thought that the women were so much better. But you are my son, Perseus. You have risen above so many heroes. You are a thousand times better than the average hero. Do not forget that."
"I love you, Dad." Percy hugged Poseidon.
It took some time, but then Poseidon repeated the words.
"I love you too, Percy."
"Mom? What are you doing here?" Annabeth said.
"I am not a fool, Annabeth. I know when something is wrong with my daughter," Athena replied.
"Wrong? I'm perfectly fine!" Annabeth said, her voice an octave higher.
"Mmm." Athena responded firmly. "Yet your hands are shaking, you have broken into a cold sweat, and you have been staring into space for over ten minutes."
