CHAPTER 5: Turn Back Time

The next two weeks are incredibly busy for Noeul as he supervises the move to the new offices and the layout of the teams at their new headquarters.

This office will have about 40 employees who will coordinate projects across all international locations.

They also need to set up a retail team that will coordinate buying and merchandising across all the flagship retail boutiques that they operate in 5 major cities.

While Noeul has a capable executive team that can handle the day-to-day running of the business, he is still pulled into many of the little details during the transition.

He loves this!

He is still surprised at how quickly the company has grown.

He never expected his little merch brand to take off like this.

But he had used his business savvy and a lot of advice and guidance from his parents to grow it into what it is today.

His parents had truly supported him every step of the way.

He remembered the time that he first came back to Thailand years ago and how determined he had been to earn his way, to be successful in his own right.

And here he was eight years later.

He was highly regarded in the business world as a successful, young CEO and the creator of the IT'S MAGENTA brand.

He could now easily afford all the things he had craved in his youth - pretty much whatever he wanted - luxury cars, clothes, and properties without help from his family.

More importantly, he had also grown to understand that those things weren't what brought happiness.

Having people that loved you for who you are -not what you have- and supported you, was the most important thing in the world.

That lesson had been ingrained in him over the time he spent with Boss, his parents, and his friends here.

Boss had reached out to him to set a date for dinner so they could catch up.

They had settled on an evening 3 weeks after the Welcome Back Party.

The next weekend hadn't worked out as he had family commitments, and the following weekend Boss was performing at a local club to get in some practice for his upcoming tour in a few months.

Noeul was a bit relieved for the extra time to gather himself, but he was also looking forward to really reconnecting with Boss again.

He missed their friendship and the support that Boss had always given him.

He knew that he could talk to Boss about all that he had gone through in the past several years to get to where he was.

He wanted to share the challenges he had faced and the accomplishment he had felt with his most cherished friend, and - if he were being honest - he wanted to know that Boss was proud of him.

In turn, he wanted to hear the dirty details of what Boss was going through in the competitive music world he was swimming in.

He had also achieved so much success with an even bigger fandom as a singer than he had as an actor.

They had of course talked about some of this with each other early on when they had still been together, trying to break into their respective fields.
