'CRAP!' Stephen Ahn thought as he hastily grabbed his bag and sprinted out the door. He hadn't even stopped to fix his hair and his clothes had been sloppily put on.
He had taken pain medicine the night before to numb his body of all the injuries from Oswald Yang and his gang. Normally he'd be able to wake up with an alarm but he had been so exhausted that he had slept through it.
By the time Stephen had managed to wake up, it was already past noon. It was lunch time, one of the most dangerous times in school. The other times were before class started, during breaktimes, and right after school. Those were the times when bullies tormented their victims on school grounds.
Just as Stephen passed through the gates of Byuksan Middle School, he saw a figure falling from the roof. He couldn't see the face due to the person falling at such a fast speed, but Stephen could recognize that grey hair.
He slowly walked over to where the person had landed. There was so much blood. Oh Arceus, there was so much fucking blood! Gray lied right in the center of the rapidly expanding crimson puddle. His limbs were unnaturally bent and his pinkish-purplish eyes were becoming duller with each passing second.
"G-Gray?" Stephen shakily knelt down and gently cradled his best friend to his chest.
"S...teph..." Gray's body was limp in Stephen's arms.
Stephen screamed. The scream was filled with rage, sorrow, and grief. It was loud and sent shivers down the spines of anyone who heard.
He rode with Gray in the ambulance to the hospital. The two boys were separated as the nurses and doctors brought Gray into the operating room. He sat on the bench in the waiting area, eyes glued to the blood on his hands and clothes, Gray's blood on his hands and clothes. He didn't hear any of the staff trying to comfort him or offer a set of clean hospital clothes to change into.
After what felt like an eternity, Gray was transferred to his own hospital room. Stephen quickly followed and collapsed in the seat beside his best friend. Gray was hooked up to numerous machines and the heart monitor beeped loudly. Gray's mother was speaking with the doctor, but Stephen overheard everything.
Gray was in a coma. The only thing to guarantee results would be to leave him hooked up to life support for now, but he was guaranteed to live.
Stephen stayed by Gray's side until visiting hours were over. He wanted to fight the staff that were telling him to leave, but he knew if he caused a scene he'd be banned and wouldn't be able to visit Gray.

Stephen sobbed in his room. 'It's my fault...I failed to have all of their attention on me...so they ended up hurting Gray. I didn't want Gray to be dragged into this mess...'
"I'm so sorry, Gray..."
'Where did it all go wrong!? Gray and I were just minding out own business! We weren't hurting anyone!'
Stephen's expression darkened when he recalled a certain boy whom he had reached out to when he had seen him eating all alone. 'Bryce Oh, this is all your fault! Oswald Yang pretty much ignored me and Gray. It wasn't until you started spouting all those lies that he started causing problems for us!'
Stephen clenched his fist tightly, digging his nails into his palms. 'Why did you do that!? We had shown you nothing but kindness! Why did you do that!?' He began punching the wall. 'Why? Why!? WHY!?' He stopped punching, his knuckles red but fortunately not bleeding. 'It doesn't matter why. No reasoning can justify what he did to Gray,'
