11. Tension between us

We enjoy funerals.
We've been crashing them since we were old enough to read the obituary section.

Mayor walker was murdered and Wednesday and I know he is here. Standing innocently next to us plotting their next move. And watching everything we do.

I know were close to the truth
We have all pieces of the jigsaw
We just need to solve them into place
We must look past the tears and masks of grief
Until now, we may have been outmatched and outmanoeuvred

But the final gambit has yet to be played
The killer will make a mistake
And I will be ready.

I look over to my right and see a figure looking at us in the distance. I quickly nudge Wednesday and she looks at me and i nod my head over to the figure.

We both quickly start running after it as it also runs.

We quickly cone to a stop as we cant see the person anymore. We look around when all of a sudden a shadow tollered over us rattling the leaves on the ground. I quickly turn around and pull my sword out pointing it at its chest when a sudden bolt of electricity overflows it.
No, it cant be.

"Still as sharp as ever, my pig-tailed protégé"
I grin widely
"Uncle Fester" Wednesday I spoke in sync.
He chuckled and nodded.

We started all walking together. "How long have you been stalking us" Wednesday spoke.
"Just blew into town this morning and was hit by a wave of nostalgia" he grinned at us

"I thought you didn't go to nevermore?" I spoke confused.
"I didn't, your dad got all the brains". "But i used to drop in on him, Usually from the ceiling with a dagger clutched between my teeth, just to keep him on his toes" He continued

Of course

"He filled me in on what was going on" Uncle fester spoke while mine and Wednesdays smiles dropped a little. "Monster, murder, mayhem, what fun!" He spoke excitedly.

"I told him I had a job in Boston but Id be checking up on you both" I furrowed my brows "what kind of job" I asked intrigued.
"The kind that means I need somewhere to lay low for a couple of days". I grinned looking at Wednesday.

We were walking towards Eugines place when we got inside Wednesday spoke. "This place belongs to a friend" I had to hide my smile.
"You actually made a friend, that poor kid will be going home in a body bag, what about you Friday?" He turned his attention to me with Wednesday following.

"Yeah, no need to know who" I spoke.

Uncle fester winked at me already knowing who but walked over to the hive.
"I like a hideout that comes with snacks" he spoke as his hands got closer to the honey.
"Those bees are hibernating, they're practically Eugines children " Wednesday said.

Uncle Fester stuck his hand inside while I sat in the corner laughing at them two. "That means do not eat them!" Wednesday raised her voice

"You know when you give me that death stare of disapproval, you remind me of your mother" He said turning back to Wednesday. She looked down.

"Speaking of scary, you know which kind of monster you're dealing with?" He asked looking at the both of us.
"I havent been able to identify it" Wednesday said handing him a sheet.

"Its a hyde" I said standing up while the both of them looked at me.
"Fridays right" He said nodding.
"As in jekyll and hyde?"
He nodded.
I ignored the rest if the conversation but focused back in when Wednesday called me. "Lets go" she said.

We walked out but Wednesday turned back around.
"Leave the bees alone".

I was now reading my book I stole from the nightshades library while Wednesday continued with her book.
The door suddenly opened while Enid walked in.
"Hey, sorry, I figured you were still at Mayor walkers wake"
Then the both of them started bickering with Enid leaving first.
And this was why I moved.
