"Mum gets out today" I said, as I picked at my nails with the phone between my shoulder pressing it onto my ear so I could hear Alexis.
"Yeah, Uncle Max rung up mum and told her. We're going to drive down and visit you, uh, I mean her" I was confused, I knew I had cancer but there was a 60% chance the chemo would help me get better... I mean the cancer was gone wasn't it? I started to drift off into a day dream when Alexis pulled me back "Ana! Are you listening to me? I was telling you about this boy I like" that's the thing with 12 year old cousins, it's all about them.

I walked into my dads office, he's a lawyer "hey dad, why are Aunty Kim and Uncle Mitchell coming yo visit on Saturday?" It was a 7 hour trip down to where we lived, not really worth it to just stay for one night and then leave again. Plus I had chemo on Saturday so I wouldn't be up to much talking, but yet again they are visiting for mums sake.
"Who told you that?" My father said eyeing me with his disapproving parental look, "Alexis did, I was just on the phone with her," I said shrugging my shoulders "they're coming to see mum?" I plopped down on dad's couch, "I think it's cool, I haven't seen Alexis in ages, or Aunty Kim!" My dad just raised an eyebrow and sighed, as if to say 'oh alright enough' he just went back to signing some papers.
