𝐇𝐢𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 - 𝐑𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐧 𝐋𝐚𝐬𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐱 𝐅𝐞𝐦 𝐎𝐂

𝐑𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐥𝐞𝐬

I've decided not to go to the library. It's just I don't doesn't feel safe to go down because its the middle of winter so it's dark and I'm not risking besides there was bear attacks and stuff recently. Instead I'm now wandering around the school in search of my friends or maybe even Rowan. I haven't really checked out most of the school even though I've been here a year, I've mostly just gone to and and fro from my classes and the library but know I've started to notice some random hallways and statues but one specific statue is intriguing. I believe it's of the schools founder Edgar Allen Poe. He is standing upright holding a book with a raven on his shoulder. I begin to snoop around it even though I know I shouldn't. Carefully I climb atop the statues base and look inside the book, it's a series of riddles? I have nothing to do so I take a pen and scribble the answers on my palm.

1. The opposite of moon?

Easy it's obviously sun.

2. The world between ours?

Nether. I play too much Minecraft...

3. Two months before June?

April.

4. A self seeding flower?

Pansy. I answer the rest of the questions but it doesn't make sense it's just a bunch of random words. Wait last week we did acrostic poems in English in an acrostic poem the first letter of each sentence put together spells a word or phrase. I franticly pull up my sleeves and jot down the answers vertically I then circle the first letters and end up with 2 words. Snap Twice. I take a deep breath and snap twice to my surprise the statue moves and opens a hidden doorway. For a moment I contemplate going in because it was obviously hidden for a reason there could be some sort of monster back there! Alright I'm going in.

Once I walk in everything is dark but there is a spiral staircase with a light coming from the bottom. Cautiously, I creep down the gloomy staircase praying that there isn't some 3 headed snake at the bottom. I hear someone at the bottom make a commotion and I drop to the floor and peek through the banister. It's some boy I can't see who because he is facing the other way but what is he doing here? He has some sort of telekinetic abilities so just to mess with them I start to change reality. He tries to grab a book of the shelf but just as he's about to grab it I change reality so that it goes back onto the shelf. He stands there looking confused as to why his powers aren't working, I can't help but giggle but he hears and sharply turns around and shouts.

"Whos was that!?" I quickly clasp my hand over my mouth and crawl up the steps a bit. I didn't see his face but that voice... It's so familiar. I definitely know him. He turns back around and I come back down the stairs. The book floats towards him once again but I put it back on the shelf. This repeats a few times before he walks over and grabs it. He flicks through the book before ripping out and page and putting it in his pocket. I decide I'm going to stand up and speak.

"Hello?" Don't tell me that's...

"Valerie? What are you doing here?" That is defiantly who I think it is.

"Um I don't know actually I was just wandering about and ended up here somehow, what are you doing here?" Let's not include the part where I was actively looking for him. I come down the stairs and walk towards him. This is the first I've stood beside him and I'm now only noticing that he is a good bit taller than me.

"Nothing I was just.. Never mind." Strange but okay I'm basically a stranger to him unfortunately.

"Do you have telekinesis? When I was walking down here I spotted a book floating."

"Yea but It's acting up." He replies placing both hands in his pockets. I start to laugh knowing that his powers are in fact not acting up but that I was messing with him, "What's so funny?"

"Nothing it's just," I can't stop myself from laughing now because of the serious look on his face, "I don't think it's acting up."

"What?"

"I saw a book floating so I kept putting it back on the shelf!" I can't breathe with how much I'm laughing right now. His face goes from confusion to surprise to joy.

"That was you?" He is now laughing as well. His laugh makes me want to melt into the floor.

"Yeah! I didn't know it was you so I just kept messing about."

"So you have telekinesis as well then?"

"Mm not exactly.. It's more like powers that can change and make new realities." His face has gone back to confusion.

"What? How does that work?"

"It's like," I use my powers to grab a random book, " I didn't grab this book, I just changed reality so that this book was in my hand."

"Ohhh I think I get it now." I crack my knuckles after he says this. I crack my knuckles when I'm nervous.

"Anyways, I got to go. I promised Enid I would help her with some homework." I can feel myself starting to go red, I got to get out of here.

TIME SKIP

"Enid?" I knock on her dorm door and open it to stick my head in, "Can I come in?"

"Yes!" I hear her say. When I walk in the first thing I notice is her room mate sitting in front of a type writer franticly clicking different keys. Enid is lying on her bed kicking her legs in the air and texting someone. I can't anymore. I have to tell someone about my stupid liking for Rowan.

"Enid?" I sit on the end of her bed and she sits up to face me.

"Yees?"

"I.. think I like someone." I don't like I know but she doesn't need to know that. Enid's eyes widen and she covers her mouth.

"Shut up! who?" She starts squealing and shaking me like she needs to know or she'll die.

"Calm down! I'm not telling you! You'll go and put it on your blog then everyone will know!"

"But vaaaaaaaal..."

"I'll give you a hint, it's not who you think it is." She thinks it's Xavier. I know she does all last year she kept insisting I liked him but I didn't.

"You don't know who I think it is!"

"I do, you think it's Xavier."

"Okay maybe you do know who I think it is but still!" She is still squealing but her room mate stands up and walks out without saying a word.

"Enid give me my $10, you made a bet and lost." I say trying to change the subject now regretting everything I just said to her.

"Fine. If I give you $20 will you tell me who like?" She says hopefully.

"Let me think about it, no." I snatch the $10 off of her and walk over to her window and look out it.

"Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee." I turn around to give her a look but I then her something crash outside. I look outside the clear part of the window and see Xavier on top of Enid's room mate.

What the fuck is he doing?
