It's Been a week since Wednesday Addams got here and I've learned a few mildly disturbing things about her. The first one is that her family is exactly like her, I learned this for Enid's blog she also does the weird thing where her head shoots up in the sky and she falls to floor, yeah I don't know... But the Poe cup is in 2 hours so I have that to look forward to! Although Yoko isn't going to be on out team this year because she had an accident with garlic bread I think? So I don't know who's going to be out co-piolet or co-swimmer or whatever you call it. I have to go and get my costume from Enid like right now or else I won't have enough time to get ready. Ok yes maybe it is a bit excessive to try and be the best looking bitch there but you know Rowan is gonna be there and...

I rush to Enid's door and knock on it a few times before she answers.

"Val? What are you doing here? DID THE MYSTRY BOY ASK YOU OUT?!" I wish Enid.

"What? No, I just came to check if you have my costume?"

"Ohhh yeah here it is," She says calmly while handing me a costume on a hanger.

"Enid, did you steal this from batman forever?" It looks so much like cat woman it's probably plagiarism at this point.

"Shut up Vaaal!"

"Right. Well I'll see you at the comp?"

"Yup!" She closes the door and I start to hear her excited squeal coming from behind it. I start to walk back to my dorm when I see Rowan sitting on a random bench outside and I cant help but stop and stare through the window. No boy has ever had me like this. I come back to reality when he looks up at the window and sees me staring. God this is embarrassing, I smile at him and awkwardly wave down at him before speed walking away. Lord save me from this moment.

2 HOURS LATER

I'm so nervous. Not because of loosing or nothing no but because I can see Rowan standing over beside a tree in the back. It kind of feels like I have to win now and not fuck up in front of him. I also just found out that Wednesday is the co-captain? It would've been nice to have that information coming into this but what can you do? It when then we heard the principals gun go off and we went for it. All teams rowed their boats like there was no tomorrow including ours. Bianca's team wasn't first surprisingly but we were doing pretty well for ourselves. While we are rowing Enid screams back at me.

"So Val, will you finally tell me who the boy is?" This catches the attention of the wannabe Heath Ledgers who all start oooing and making kissy noises at me, well all for except one. Xavier. I seriously don't know what his issue with me is. I hardly even talk to the fella but he still hates me.

"Look what you did you melter!" I'm done with her but the anger is doing some good because it's making me row faster and we kind of winning now suck on that you dicks. We continue to row and end up reaching the Island but when Enid goes to stand up I hear Wednesday tell her to stay here? That's probably the first I've heard her talk since she got here. I sit and mind my own business till I hear Enid talking to someone except it's not to either of the people on her team or anyone in another team. I spy something climb over the edge of the boat when it finally clicks.

"ENID, WAS THAT A FUCKING AMPUTATED HAND?!?!"

"What? Noooo..." She turns around and does that face she makes when she is guilty, She is the exactly the best liar.

"Enid I literally just saw it go off into the, OH MY GOD THERE IT IS AGAIN!" I can see a hand in the woods flipping off the jokers.

"Ok fine! Maybe there was an amputated hand.." She says standing up and walking towards the other boat and making a hole in it.

"You are a horrible liar Enid."

"I know but-" Her sentence is cut short when Wednesday comes flying around the corner holding a flag, "where were you?! almost everyone has left!"

"Just go!" We all grab our oars and begin to row out way back to the finish or start depending on how you look at it. The Jokers left not too long ago so we are just behind them but they start to slow down and we overtake them pissing ourselves laughing. Everything is going perfectly fine till I turn around and see Bianca and her team getting closer. I don't hate Bianca she is my friend but I'm going to be honest she can be a little bit I don't know bitchy sometimes. It was then we all noticed that our boat was heading towards one of the markers and we all started to panic and loose out shit. I turn around and see Bianca's team laughing as they overtake us. I flip her off and she does the same. But suddenly our boat stops moving and we begin to go forward again. Wednesday flips the switch and spears come out of the edge of out boat. We move in closer to Bianca's boat but they dodge it. Fuck it I'm using my powers.

"Enid?! Can I do something!?"

"Uh sure?!" She is having doubts but I'm not. I place my oar on my knees and begin to hold Bianca's boat in place. The others move in towards their boat while they struggle to move, hopelessly rowing but not moving. We then scrape the side of their boat and it begins to sink. I let go off their boat and Bianca gives me a dirty look. That can't be good. We eventually hit the shore and get out of the boat. Enid and Wednesday take the lead and we follow behind. We run past the finish land and begin to celebrate. Everyone's looking at at each other but I'm only looking at one person.

"Hey Val, good thinking!" Enid calls out among the clapping and cheering.

"Thanks, you were great as well!" I say not taking my eyes off of Rowan.

"What are you looking at?"

"What? Nothing, I'm just gonna.. I'll be back." I say before running off and disappearing into the crowd. I make my way over to the edge of the lake and sit down beside Rowan.

"Hey," he says greeting me, " Congrats on winning."

"Thanks! Although I don't think Bianca likes me very much anymore haha"

"She didn't like me to begin with." He says looking down into the water.

"What? What do you mean?" I'm so confused.

"Bianca isn't the nicest person to me but no one really is so.. But what would you know? Everyone likes you, you're popular and smart and," He pauses for a second. "... Pretty." My heart starts to flutter. He just called me pretty. I try and stay calm and scoot closer to him.

"Well, I wasn't always seen as that. Even before I found out about my you know people didn't like me very much. I wasn't seen as popular nor smart nor pretty, but hey what would I know?" I say sarcastically looking over the lake and nudging him.

"What? But you're like.. probably the coolest person I know?" There is no way he actually just said that. NO WAY.

"That's only because we are both into nerdy shit."

"Oh really? Name three nerdy things I'm into." He turns around and faces me.

"Star wars, Lord of the rings, D and D." I say without any hesitation.

"Ok maybe you're right.." He says defeatedly while laughing. We sit in silence for a few moments before Enid appears out of no where.

"Ooooo love birdsss,"

"Enid!" I scream while standing up and turning around.

"Sooo is this the boy you like?" Rowan turns around and widens his eyes, "YOU LIKE ROWAN?"

"what? No, Enid piss off." I go completely red and begin to cover my face. Rowan looks.. upset at my answer?

"OMG OMG OMG ROWAN IS THE BOY YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT LAST WEEK!"

"Haha funny joke Enid! now lets go!" I hiss at her while she is still squealing and freaking out. I turn around to look at Rowan who has also gone red? "Sorry Rowan I've got to go I'll speak to you later on."

"YOU LIKE ROWAN, YOU LIKE ROWAN!!"

"Shut the fuck up Enid!" I quietly shout while pushing her away and looking back to smile at Rowan. Something tells me this isn't going to end well.
