"Charlie, honey, I know you haven't felt good, but you need to try and eat.." You begged softly, as the sick boy laid in his bed, curled up underneath the covers with his head in your lap.

It had been a day since Charlie first started running his fever, and though he had been resting and taking every medicine he could get his hands on, he still seemed to get worse. He had refused to eat, anything that he did eat was only throw up about 10 minutes later. The only thing he managed to keep down was water, which you made sure he drank with each bit of medicine he took.

Squishing his cheek into your thigh, Charlie gave a small groan, before shaking his head. "I'll be fine, Y/N, I promise." He muttered out in a raspy voice, his body relaxing slightly. "I ate a few of Ted's fries last night, they should hold me over for a bit.."

"Those probably came up when you threw up your soup earlier, hun.." You said with a frown, beginning to thread your fingers through his hair. "Promise me you'll try in a little bit, okay? I can bring you some crackers, or.."

You trailed off as you felt Charlie place his hand in yours, a faint smile forming on his face. "I promise, okay? I'm just gonna take a nap.." He spoke quietly, a small yawn escaping his lips as he pulled away from your lap, resting his head on his pillow. "I'll text you if I need you, okay..?"

Though it worried you to see how distant he was growing, you knew it was probably for the best. He seemed to want to isolate himself from everyone else, not wanting to spread whatever he had onto them. It made you feel awful, yet you couldn't do anything to stop it but just wait. After giving him a gentle kiss on the forehead, you soon headed out of his room, making your way downstairs to sit with the other two boys.

Ted was cradling Evie in his arms while Schlatt scrolled through shows on the TV, trying to find something at least child friendly. "For the last fucking time, Ted. I'm not turning on Cocomelon. I don't want a migraine, and I don't want to also rot the kids brain."

"Come on, Schlatt! It's just a bunch of little innocent kids songs!" Ted scoffed, carefully bouncing Evie in his lap. "Just one episode?"

Schlatt seemed to pout a bit, before giving in and clicking on the show. "Fine. But if she gets obsessed with it, I'm smothering you in your sleep."

Laughing a bit, Ted leaned back, allowing Evie to face the TV. As soon as the first episode turned on, Evie seemed to grow instantly upset. She began crying and turning away, kicking her legs towards the screen as if she was trying to kick it away.

Immediately switching the show off, Schlatt gave a laugh, before lifting Evie into his arms. "That's my girl! Did the baby with the big ass head scare you?!"

Evie seemed to calm down as soon as the show was off, feeling comforted by the presence of her fathers, and not the wretched cocomelon baby. "I told you she wouldn't like it, Ted! Shit rots her brain!"

"Whatever." Ted said as he rolled his eyes, before finally noticing you at the bottom of the steps. "Oh, hey, Y/N. How's Charles doing?" He asked softly, his tone seeming to automatically change.

Sighing a bit, you finished your trip down the stairs before sitting in between the two boys, both of which turned their attention to you immediately. "Not so good. He's refusing to eat anything, I can't even get him to try."

Schlatt placed his free hand on your back, patting it slightly as a soft smile formed on his face. "Hey, don't stress too much, okay? I'm sure in a day or two he'll be back to his old self. Besides, no use in eating if its just gonna come back up." He said with a slight frown, beginning to rub his hand along Evie's head.
