When you awoke, you were laying in bed, your blanket pulled over you as if someone had put you there. Your body felt tired, still trying to comprehend everything that had happened before.
As you escaped from the covers, you noticed your knees and hands were a bit scraped up from where you had fallen straight onto the concrete. The pain wasn't noticeable before, yet now you could feel every bit of it, even though it wasn't too bad.
Standing up, you glanced over, staring at yourself for a moment. You looked like a hot mess, your hair all over the place while your eyes were red and irritated from crying.
Of course, any sane person who had just had their baby stolen would feel the same way.
The moment replayed in your head each time you thought about it. The man with the mask, Evie's cries, the car speeding off into the distance as you sobbed helplessly on the side walk- it all came back, hitting you like a bus.
Before you even gave your emotions a chance to take over, your door slowly creaked open, allowing Ted to poke his head inside. He seemed relieved to see you awake, though his expression wasn't joyful at all. He immediately walked in and pulled you into a hug, not saying a word.
He didn't need to. As soon as his arms wrapped around you, the tears started once again. You cried softly into his chest as the moment replayed in your head.
Ted just held you in his arms, his hand gently rubbing circles against your back in order to soothe you. "I know." Was all he could say, resting his head against yours. "We've made some calls- not to the police, of course.." He attempted to reassure you, yet to no avail.
"They took my baby, Ted.. they took our baby.." You sobbed quietly, gripping tightly to his shirt.
He frowned, seeing you in this condition made his heart ache. "And we'll get her back. I promise you, Y/N, we'll get her back.."
All you could do was cry for a moment. Your emotions didn't let you do anything else. Evie was only a few months old, hell, she couldn't even eat solid food yet. Knowing she was in the hands of a bunch of strangers made you worry if you'd ever see your baby girl again.
When your eyes finally dried, you inhaled shakily, trying to compose yourself as Ted hugged you in his arms. Looking up at him, you rubbed your eyes, beginning to think of what else would be going on because of this. "Where's Schlatt?"
"He's.. well, he cried for a bit, punched a hole in the wall, and is now pacing around in the backyard with a bottle of whiskey, making phone calls.." Ted said with a sigh. "He's not taking this any better than you are. Charlie isn't either. He's been in Evie's room for the past hour, trying to find any clue on who took her."
Giving a small sniffle, you looked up at him, carefully placing your hand on his cheek. "And you.. how are you holding up..?"
Ted fell silent for a moment, not sure how to respond to you for a moment. ".. I'm handling it, I guess." He muttered softly, placing a gentle kiss on your forehead. "All I know is this wasn't just some kidnapping. Someone is after us. They're trying to get us back into the world of crime."
Sniffling softly, you looked up at him, a bit surprised by his theory. "But why take Evie.. why not just ambush the house..?"
"They want all of us in one place, at our weakest moments.. that way they can take us out easily." He spoke grimly, pulling you close to him. "We need to stick together during this, alright?"
You just gave a small nod, soon pulling away from him, worrying about the other boys. "Go check on Charlie and get him relaxed, alright? I'm going to talk to Schlatt."
