Though the night seemed to drag on forever, morning soon arrived, leading to the preparations of packing your shit into the car and heading out. Ted had offered to drive since Schlatt was too hungover, you were a panicking mess, and Charlie just seemed too zoned out to focus on the open road.
"Right. Noah messaged me and said they're all waiting for us at a motel just outside of town. Nobody's there but them, so we have all the privacy we need." Ted spoke softly, his eyes focused on the road.
All you could really do was stare out the window, hearing the cries of your poor baby replay in your head from the day before. It terrified you to know she was in danger, in the hands of a complete stranger, in an unknown location. Though it was hard to focus on anything else, one detail from that moment kept flashing in your brain.
The license plate of the car that took your baby.
You had that combination of those letters and numbers memorized. And you weren't letting it go until you found it.
Glancing over at Ted as he drove, you sat up, managing to collect yourself. "I have the license plate of the car. Do you think they can do anything with that information?"
Ted gave a small grin as he heard you, giving a small nod as he turned his signal on to pull into the motel. "Definetly. If I know one thing, Phil's got a new guy on his team who's really good at tracking vehicles, from what I've heard. Any bit of information you have, they'll track it down."
As your car pulled into the parking lot in the motel, you couldn't help but notice the three cars neatly parked in a row, being met with a group of familiar faces.
Old friends who had helped in the past and were definitely going to help now; Travis, Noah, Cooper, Phil, Techno, Wilbur, Tommy, and one new face; all of them stood by the cars, watching closely as the four of you pulled in.
Once you stepped out of the car, you heard quick footsteps before being approached by Phil. Though he looked as menacing as always, you could see a glint of worry in his eyes. "We've heard about everything that's happened, Y/N. Are you holding up alright?" He asked softly, opening his arms for a hug.
It was hard to resist the hug at first. You nearly crumbled into his arms, accepting the hug with glossy eyes. "I'm surviving. That's all that matters." Was all you managed to say, attempting to contain yourself with a sigh.
"I promise you, we'll find Evie and bring her back to safety. No matter what." Phil reassured you softly, almost like a father reassuring his distressed child. Despite his tough nature, he always seemed to care for his peers as if they were his own. It was sweet, in a way.
It wasn't long before the others approached you, the next person you gave your full attention to being Tommy. It was only a few months ago that you all thought he was gone for good, nearly losing him in the car wreck tore all of your hearts into pieces. Seeing him standing and walking again as if he was brand new almost brought a tear to your eye. Before he could even get a word out, you immediately embraced him, hugging him tightly as if you all would lose him again. "And how are you feeling, big man?"
Tommy seemed to smile brightly, accepting the hug as if he hadn't seen you in years. "A lot better, honestly. Besides the scars, you can't even tell I was in an accident! You guys better be lucky mum actually agreed to let me help you guys this time."
"We had to pull a few strings." Techno spoke plainly, hovering over the two of you with his arms crossed. The blood god himself was as intimidating as always, his tall muscular figure towering over both you and Tommy as if you were mere ants.
Though he wasn't much of a hugger, you couldn't help but wrap your arms around him, too. He seemed hesitant yet hugged back awkwardly, patting your back as an attempt to comfort you. "Yeah, about the kid. Like Phil said, we're willing to risk anything to make sure she gets back home safe and sound."
