lunch sounds amazing, plus Kacy wasn't wrong my fridge was full of half-eaten take out, and whatever Luna Zoey forced me to take. she was such a mother hen sometimes.
Kacy had slipped away to change his clothes, though I didn't mind the gray sweatpants and black tank, he said something about needing to look his best in the company of his Luna, which caused me to scoff at him.

looking around my room my face fell that bastard chuckled all my clothes about my bedroom and escaped, he's a brute without any home training.
might as well pick up a bit and get dressed myself, or maybe not I thought laughing to myself, it would probably hurt his image to be seen with his mate in her nightgown and a robe but thought better to not test him he was a trained killer.
grabbing most of my clothes and setting them in my walk-in in no particular order I can straighten up later.
finding a thick pair of black leggings and a gray pullover, it looked nice but not too nice.
I quickly braided my long brown curls into two perfect French braids.
I couldn't help staring at myself in the mirror, for being almost 30 you would never guess. my skin was flawless not a wrinkle in sight I'd been mistaken for a 22-year-old one too many times.
for not being a she-wolf I sure did age like one.

okay, I've got my phone, wallet, and keys, check all good.
before heading out the door I checked on the boys they needed fresh water and I liked to leave them a snack even if I wasn't going to be gone long.
just as I finished filling up the timbers bowl I heard the front door open, I guess Dan did give kace his key.
ghost gave him a warning growl from his spot on the couch.
"nice to see you too Casper" he joked, he and ghost did not get along well at all, almost like they both wanted my attention.
"is that what you're wearing" he sounded amused.
I hadn't turned to greet him yet as I petted bone who had come up to give me kisses.
"yes I'm comfortable" I replied
dryly, turning around to face him, and I was greeted by a god, not a hair out of line not even a speck of dust on his dark black sports coat, he look like the front cover of GQ, with a navy blue button up and back slacks that look like he was sewn into the fabric, I could tell this man never skipped leg day.
I raised my eyebrows in Surprise I was very underdressed, and I couldn't help but look him up and down enjoying everything I laid my eyes on.
"you wanna take a picture? it'll last longer darling" a smirk playing on his lips.

I rolled my eyes at him, "whatever you say Kacy" I couldn't keep the grin off my face before walking past him and heading towards the front door.
Ghost jumped off the sofa following closely behind me.
"I know I'm gorgeous and I know you like it " he teased.
"shut up" I laughed, pushing open the small hall closet to pick a handbag, then noticed ghost standing at the front door, realizing he wouldn't let me go with him, so I grabbed his leash too.
"what do you need that for" Kacy questioned.
"he's going with us and it's better to just accept it than argue with him" I sighed, pulling my small all-black Prada bag over my head and reaching for the doorknob.

"fine" he huffed crossing his arms over his chest.
"See now that wasn't so hard" I grinned,
"I'm just mad 'cause you give that mutt whatever he wants" he grumbled.
"you sound jealous alpha " I cooed.

"no I'm not" he spat.
I shrugged my shoulders and opened the front door, "alright Ghost lets go"
ghost took off out the door, I followed right behind him as Kacy stood there watching us, a frown on his face and then a huff and he followed.
truth be told I didn't know where we were going or if it was pet friendly, most of the city is werewolf but you come across the odd human mom-and-pop shop.
the elevator ride down was quiet and slightly awkward so when the doors opened to the lobby I had to keep myself from all but running out.
I turned my head slightly to the left as Kacy caught up with me.
"where are we going by the way?" I asked,
"it's a surprise" Kacy replied.

we walked to the car park side by side in silence, I glanced at him every few seconds hoping he would say something.
"so my car is over on the second floor it's not too much further," I said trying to cut the tension.
Kacy just hummed and continued walking in the opposite direction where a large blacked-out Suv sat idle against the curb.
I stopped walking as a man got out of the SUV to open the door as Kacy approached.
Alexander stood stone-faced, ghost barked happily trying to pull me closer to his new friends .
Kacy turned towards us eyes wide he reached out towards me and ghost tried to pull me along, but I couldn't breathe, I couldn't even move I was rooted where I stood paralyzed.
"Samantha Alex won't hurt you" he spoke softly as his hand wrapped around mine pulling me to him gently. " Alex leave us I'll take her by myself" Kacy called over his shoulder, he tried to pull me with him but until that man was completely gone I wouldn't move any closer. I noticed as he walked past that he had a look of guilt on his face,
Kacy placed a kiss on my forehead pulling me back to reality.
"he's gone I'm so sorry Samantha I didn't think" he whispered.
I nodded my head slowly still frozen in place.
"come on I'll take you to the car" he pulled me close kissing my temple again before guiding me to the passenger side door.

We climbed inside and I kept my eyes fixed on Kacy.
he drove silently for quite some time not saying anything.
"Sam I-" Kacy started but I interrupted him.
"don't apologize" I sighed.
"what should I say than" he sighed as he parked outside a restaurant I'd never been to it didn't seem too fancy.
"do you want a tissue?" Kacy asked offering me a piece of cloth in his outstretched hand.
only then did I realize I had been crying.
"thank you" I whispered taking the handkerchief and wiping away my tears.
"What happened?" he inquired leaning forward.
"I don't know it was just a feeling I guess" I answered.
"a feeling" he repeated raising an eyebrow.
"yeah, I don't know" I sighed.
"did you feel afraid?" He asked.
"of course, I did" I admitted
"you're safe with me" he promised, he cupped my cheek with his other hand, and he looked deep into my eyes with so much affection and love and I felt warm inside.
I leaned into his palm as we stayed in our position for a few more minutes.
then my stomach growled loudly and Kacy chuckled.
"let's go eat," he said after a moment, his hand slipping from my cheek to my chin making me look him in the eye.
"you okay with Chinese food? we could always go somewhere else if it's not your liking."
"no I'm fine" Chinese was actually my favorite.

As soon as we stepped into the main lobby of the restaurant my jaw dropped as I stared wide-eyed at the extravagant decorations.
I was completely wrong about this place not being expensive it had a 5 Star Michelin review, I have never been in such a fancy establishment before it was beautiful, the walls were painted black the ceiling was lit with gold light, it was elegant with lots of beautiful artwork hanging off of the wall, each table was decorated in different patterns and colors, the wait staff was dressed in formal wear which meant they wore black, and they were also very tall, maybe 6 foot or 6' 5 I wasn't sure it didn't matter.
The table Kacy chose was in the back away from wandering eyes, a table that only people of our species were able to enjoy, it was covered in white linen with silver accents and glass vases filled with colorful flowers scattered around.
After we ordered we chatted for a while, we talked about mundane things like what our favorite color was (he was green) which surprised me.
He didn't enjoy long car rides, or fruity smells.
He explained how he had become alpha and that it still haunts him to this day.

He was extremely intelligent and witty, he was funny and smart, he knew how to make a girl laugh even though he was pretty blunt, and when he smiled at me I swear every atom in my body melted.
It must have been a full hour later before I heard my phone vibrate in my pocket.
normally I would just let it go to voicemail but alpha larks name popped up on the screen, I look to Kacy patting ghost gently on the head.
"important?" he asked raising an eyebrow at me.
"yes I hope you don't mind but I need to take this and I'll be right back" I stood and walked towards the restroom.
I hesitate but pick up right before the last ring.
"Hello?"
"hey Sam there's a problem" alpha lark sounded stressed,
"what's wrong? I'm kind of tied up at the moment" I questioned.
"the vendor you hired clark is Mia, he was supposed to be here at 1 o'clock but he hasn't shown" he sounded like he was about to bite someone's head off, most likely me.
"understood alpha, I'll fix it" I needed to remedy this quickly.
"I'll leave you to it, and also tell Kacy I said hello, I hope he's not too upset about stealing you away" alpha lark teased.
blush kept up into my face as the line went dead.
how did he know I was with Kacy? and why did that make my stomach flutter like it was filled with butterflies? I shouldn't be happy that someone knew my secrets...should I.
I headed back to the table, ghost happily jumping up and rested his head on my lap. I stroked the top of his furry head smiling softly, Kacy seemed to notice my sudden anxiety because he gave me a curious stare.
"What did he say?" he asked.
"I need to go, something happened with the food vendor I hired for tonight so I need to fix it or the festival will be very lacking in the food department" I sighed "and as you know wolves love to eat"
I had looked down to avoid Kacy's eyes.
"let lark handle it little mouse" he all but growled.
" I'm sure he's more than capable" he muttered.
Kacy growled lowly, his hands balling into fists.
"Alpha please" I pleaded.
"I'm not your Alpha little mouse" he hissed lowly, my head snapped up, his eyes obsidian.
"Okay fine I'm sorry but I can't help it Kacy" great now we were arguing.

he shook his head and ran a frustrated hand through his hair.
"it's fine" he sighed finally.
"Sorry, I'm just nervous" I admitted.
"well don't be," he said, he grabbed my hand, his fingers soft between mine.
" your work is important but so is my little time with you, but if you have to run off at his beck and call at least let me go with you" he pouted, and for a moment I wanted nothing more than to throw caution to the wind and jump him.
Instead, I bit my lip and shrugged.
"fine"
Kacy's face brightened, he leaned in and kissed me lightly on the lips before grabbing his jacket and leading me to the door ghost following happily behind.
