Chapter 6 ~ Beck

The ambulance had arrived shortly after the accident occurred. The truck driver was Tom, an ex boyfriend of Cat's. He cried when he realized what he had done.

Andre and Tori left after it happened, because Tori burst into tears at the thought of losing her best friend, and Andre couldn't stand seeing her limp body anymore.

But Beck stayed, he stayed right until the paramedics came. He stayed until they pulled him off of her limp body. He stayed until they loaded her small frame onto the stretcher. She stayed until they left with his world resting in their hands. Then he cried.

------- Later that night -------

The clock ticked and still she didn't wake up. The hours seemed like years since she came out of the surgery that saved her life, and he had been sitting waiting the whole time.

"You know you're going to have to go home and rest soon, you know?" Andre stated, noticing the black bags under his eyes.

"I won't leave until I know she's okay" Beck responded, glancing back at the tiny red headed girl fast asleep on the bed.

"She would want you to be okay Beck" Tori replied, placing her hand on his tough shoulder.

"I CAN'T leave" he cried, tears coming to his eyes, "I can't leave her like this."

Nodding, Tori walked back to the window and glanced down at the street below.

"Did anyone tell Robbie that we'd be here?" she asked, glancing at him and Andre.

"No I didn't" Andre answered, "why?"

"Because he is walking through the front doors right now!" she spoke, looking back at her friends alarmed.

"No way in hell that i'm going to let him see her" Beck called, standing up and running through the door.

He walked to the nurse's station on Cat's floor and spoke to the head nurse,

"My friend is here in a coma and her ex boyfriend is on his way up, when he gets here and asks for a Caterina Valentine, tell him he isn't aloud to see her, would you?" he smiled, hoping his charm would sweeten the deal.

"Yes sir!" the blond nurse responded, smiling back, "I shall tell this young man that you are not to be distirbed!"

"thank you very much" he beamed, knowing that Cat would not have to worry about the added pressure of her clingy ex.

"Beck!" Tori cried, rushing out the room, tears in her eyes.

Immediately he thought the worse.

"Tori what happened? What's wrong?" he questioned

"It's Cat" she whispered, "She - somehow she woke up! She's breathing Beck! She's alive!"

The tears stated rolling gently at first, but when her tired eyes and washed out skin looked up at him when he entered, he broke down.

Rushing to the chair next to her bed, he took her hand in his and cried, thanking God for returning her to him. Cat Valentine, his little miracle.

Okay so this chapter is really short and kinda rushed but the next few will come this weekend and that is really where the romance heats up! :) xx
