Chapter 10 - Beck

When they pulled into the schools parking lot, he shut the car off and stared at her.

Red hair, brown eyes, caring smile. Perfection. He couldn't believe that she was almost all his.

"Are you ready to go in?" he asked her after he finally caught his breath.

"Yea" she smiled, touching his hand for a brief moment before climbing out of his truck.

He too climbed out and walked up beside her, resting his arm across her small shoulders.

"Well well look what we have hear" a loud voice came from behind them, and when he turned he saw a familiar face.

"Andre" Cat giggled as she ran up to hug him.

"It's nice to see your face around here again little red!" he laughed, hugging her back.

"Well I missed being here. It's good to be back" she smiled.

"Everyone is glad that your okay Cat" a female voice called from the school doors.

Tori walked up to the three, and gave Cat a friendly hug. They were all back together; well, almost.

He hadn't seen Jade since the break up the week before. He wished he never had to see her, or Robbie again.

"We should probably get to class" Tori said after she let Cat go, "We're presenting our audition videos today and I don't think we want to be late for that!" she smiled and began walking inside.

Beck's smile dropped. He had been so busy worrying about Cat that he hadn't even began working on his own video. By the look on Cat'a face, she hadn't either.

"Cat" he looked at her, "did you do anything for your video?" he asked.

She shook her head no, a troubled look in her eyes.

"Okay here's what we're gonna do" he told her, "are you willing to sing? Cause I have a song that I've been working on that we could do together. It could be kind of like a live audition."

She smiled at him, "Yay! I can't wait!"

He handed her the lyrics to the song and old her to memorize as much as she could.

"Don't worry Beck, I'll be fine" she smiled as they walked into the school.

He hoped he would be too.

The videos were amazing. He forgot the talent that His classmates had. They went in alphabetical order by last names, so him and Cat would be near the end.

Andre's video was a montage of all his best songs, and boy was it good. He couldn't help but smile when Andre sang. He would be a huge star one day.

When his name was called, he slowly stood up to face their teacher.

"Sikowitz I didn't have enough time this weekend to film a video" he said, trying to hide his embarrassment.

"Well then there is no other way but to fail you" Sikowitz began.

"But" Beck interrupted, "I was planning on doing my audition live."

He looked at the teacher, trying to figure out where his thoughts were.

"Well thats gonna have to do" he finally replied.

Beck smiled "One more thing. The song is a duet, and I would like to perform it with a very special lady."

He couldn't help but notice the eagerness in Jade'a eyes, almost as if she were hoping he would call her name.

"Cat" he finally said, holding his hand out for the perky red head to grab hold of. He puled her on stage with him and they sat down on top of the two chairs that had been set out for them.

"This is a song about first love" he said, grabbing his guitar. He couldn't help himself but look at Jade. She had tears in her eyes. "And how they're never what you expect"

They sang the song exactly how he imagined them singing it. Him playing the guitar, and stealing small glances at her. Cat holding the microphone and pouring her heart and soul into every word. It was perfect.

When they finished, Sikowitz smiled at the two of them.

"Well done you two" he clapped, "You have overcome your heartbreak, by rekindling an old flame. Class is dismissed"

"Good work Cat" he smiled, standing up and walking beside her.

"Thanks, you too" she blushed.

"You know Cat, I think we're gonna make a great team" he smiled, grabbing her hand. And with that they walked to lunch.
